The guys came back today because they forgot to do the closet in NJ's room and the ceiling in the laundry room.
NJ waited outside. I got him a juice from the fridge. It's pretty warm today and inside the house is too stuffy and dusty.
Now that this part of the house isn't sealed, we can see all the walls and ceilings they took out.
Back at my mom's, NJ got Ah-ma to build legos with him. It feels like it's been a really long week!

"Weeding is great, right Mama?"

We dropped by the house before picking up NJ from school. Still working on the asbestos removal, it should be done today.
Some extra time to play before going home. He seems much happier playing than he is either at home with the chaos, or at grandma's where it's not really home.
While Baba went to talk to the guys working on our place, NJ and I worked on the weeds out front. It's pretty bad. They grew especially fast after the rain a couple weeks ago.
When Baba was done, he joined us. He did the last of the weeds while NJ tried to shoot them into the trash. Not bad, he got this one in. I went inside to grab some some stuff.
Ah-ma made noodles for dinner, NJ ate them so loudly. He wanted everyone to know how much he enjoyed it, but I tried to tell him it wasn't that the noisy eating wasn't nice to hear. The "mmmm" sounds were ok though.
Tomorrow his class is celebrating his teacher's birthday with cupcakes and a little party. We made a card for her and NJ wanted to give her some milk caramels that Ah-ma brought back from Taiwan. Hope she likes it.

After playing at the play ground after school, we came home to wait for Baba and Ah-ma. Her flight was delayed and they got stuck in traffic so we talked as we waited. We both fell asleep. He fell asleep sitting up and then leaned over on to me. NJ was so excited he made himself tired. By the time they were back it was time for dinner.
Grandma brought him some cool stuff back from Taiwan.
Some fun slippers and a mini cooper.
I asked if he could offer to help. She asked him to get the scissors to cut off the tags on her luggage.
Dotty the luggage inspector. She had her nose everywhere in there. When it was less full she was practically inside. All kinds of new smells!
Amongst feeling unsettled and stressed, we're trying to keep things as normal as we can. His nightly devotionals is a great time for us to read, learn, talk, and pray. He's still praying about our house and hoping it will get fixed faster. Us too.

Our house is being sealed up early this morning, hopefully it won't be too long for them to get the asbestos out. We went in to grab some last minute things we forgot.
We dropped by before picking up NJ from school. The house was covered in plastic except for the right side of the house.
We are back at Ah-ma's house. We packed the cars yesterday and stayed our first night last night. Tonight we'll be hanging out again, NJ and Dotty are getting comfy. We also had visitors from his friend and her mom (my friend) who just recently moved across around the corner from here. Fun! We got to talk while the kids played (with legos of coarse).

A weekend of frantic cleaning, organizing, and packing and I still don't have everything we need! Oh well, did the best we could. Our bed is in the living room, how strange. Poor Dotty is totally confused and wandering around. The front doors are wide open, but there's so much going on she's too curious to run off.
There goes our washer and dryer. The plumbers moved the washer, dryer, water heater, toilet, sink, and refrigerator.
packers packed our entire kitchen, most of our bedroom, the bathroom, laundry room, and NJ's room too.
Oh dear, do we have way too much stuff!! So overwhelming and ridiculous. Why do we have so much?! We're feeling really weighed down.
I went to picked up NJ and there was an Italian ice truck. It's such a hot day, it's a great treat. A lot of his friends were in line so I thought, why not? I gave him the money and asked him if he knew what he wanted and how to say it. I was impressed that he spoke up and ordered exactly what he wanted, gave the money, and said thank you as he got his order. Alright then, I didn't have to do a thing.
He got mango. I only got one and a single, not double. I'm glad since he didn't even finish so I got to have about half of it.
NJ and his after school play ground buddy. She got strawberry, there was debate on which was yummier, the strawberry or mango. I love how nicely they play together, I think they're so cute.
Exhausted and overwhelmed, but I had to get out. We did hot pot/shabu shabu for book group. Yum! That was fun, delicious, and relaxing. I need my monday nights, thankful for all the girls of monday nights.

Team Work

NJ said his tummy was hurting again this morning. Then he said he wanted to go to his class, but the teacher said there were a couple of kids sick in there. So I brought him to stay with me. Before the message, the pastor always reads the scripture first. When NJ saw it up on the screen, he got the pew bible and started to look it up... Matthew 15: 21-28. I was impressed. He tried to follow along. I love how he showed so much interest! NJ also wanted to put in offering so we put some in an envelope. He wanted to put it in. When he did he whispered to me, "It's for Jesus, right?" Yes, it is baby.
At home NJ really wanted help building a limousine. He's been asking for the last day or so but we've been so frantic with packing and cleaning. I couldn't keep saying to wait.
He built his limousine by himself it turns out, while I built my own car.
He took my driver to ride as a passenger in his limo.
I'm glad we could sit and build together. We helped each other find pieces that we needed. He likes to say, "Team work, Mama!"
