Picnic, Train Ride and Zoo

Picnic lunch at the park with our boys. The mommies had Lee's sandwiches and coffee. The boys had some lunchables, chicken nuggets, carrots, and grapes. When they were done they played frisbee, catch, and threw a football back and forth. We had the view of the horses. 

Little ones and big ones!

Train ride together after watching it come and go as we picnicked. So cute how Connor wanted to sit next to NJ, but to be safer, he sat with mommy. 

We decided to check out the zoo that was also at the park.

Wow, it's only $2! Not bad.

Who knew, they had big mountain lions.

Some chickens, turkeys, a tortoise, and peacocks were everywhere.

I can't remember what kind of eagle this was. I think it was an eagle, how could I forget? Well, we got to see her close up and ask lots of questions.

The boys had fun seeing all the animals and exploring the park. 

Walking back through the park back to the car. It's time to go home to rest before dinner.

Ready, set, race! The boys ran back and forth while us parents sat in chairs to watch and talk. We were tired just watching them. We didn't have to tire them out, they did that all for themselves! It was great! They took turns winning and giving each other turns, which was nice. They played so well it was great to watch. And it was nice to sit and have actual conversations with each other. 

Happy (early) Birthday to my best friend. Had to get a photo of us wearing our Nozomi necklaces. Having a day like today together is a huge blessing and so special.

Every morning I find NJ already playing and building. 

Making some chicken curry salad. Yum.

Cleaning up the spoon after mixing some muddy buddies. Mmm...

So much fun yesterday that we all overslept. NJ climbed in our bed this morning to snuggle with us. So cute and sweet, the best way to start the day. It was nice to lounge a bit in our pj's.

Bug game between lego building. 

Had to get out to someplace cooler. What's better than to look at more set boxes? 

Then a visit to Ah-ma's house where NJ got what he calls ha-jen-daws. 

NJ rode his bike for a bit and then decided to sweep the floor. 

Leftover turkey chili for dinner. Great family day together. :)

Baba, Auntie Becca, and I were around the table still talking. I spotted NJ on the day bed quietly reading Curious George to himself. Could't help taking a photo. He loves watching Curious George at Ah-ma's on PBS.

Pool time with Mama and Auntie! I lost track of how much time we were in, at least a couple hours. Auntie still calls him little fish because of how much he loves the water and dives a lot. 

NJ really wanted Becca to watch the Lego Movie with him. It was hard for her to watch for the first time when he would recite most of it or tell her what was going on. They played a couple of games together after until Baba and Uncle were done with work in the garage. 

A late dinner together. NJ was way past his bedtime but still enjoyed the food and company. We were happy to have visitors and company for the day!
