cheesy mien-mien!

nj was so excited over his spaghetti that we thought he'd jolt his way out of the highchair! we secretly called it "cheese crack". shhhhhh....

he wanted to go out the door first, but i had to run and get my purse. so i let him go, but told him to stay right there and not move. i got my purse, went out the door and there he was, waiting. that made me happy!

big chopsticks

surprised again by him not only playing with them, but feeding himself with them. ha, ha.

big bowl and big fork...

not just big boy sized, but regular sized. and he used it well! i was surprised that he ate the whole bowl of his mien mien while using the big fork and bowl. this kid will do anything for food!

ducky is peeing?

auntie filled the duck with water and sprayed it at him. the squeaky hole is at the bottom, so it looked like he was getting peed on... eeew. he didn't seem to mind, though he just continued saying: "quack, quack. quack quack!" silly boy. that and "bubbles", pointing at the bottle for me to blow some bubbles.

ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

last night at dinner and today in the pool, nj decided to start fake laughing. when we laugh, he looks at us and starts to copy. it makes us laugh harder, then he does the same... and the laughter continues. his fake laugh is so strange, but funny!

he even started to say it, sometimes excitedly in a whisper. ha, ha.

auntie becky and auntie nicole stayed for dinner last night and tested his speech. they got him to say "ah-cole" (for nicole) again, but he still couldn't say "becky". after many failed attempts, we settled for "bah-ber". needless to say, auntie ah-cole was happy, but auntie bah-ber was not so happy! we'll just have to keep trying, he'll get it, becky!

when i put a sticker on him, he always takes it off and puts it on me!

all this milk for me?

now he actually asks for milk, almost on the dot at times. he repeats it over and over and over!! "nay nay, nay nay, nay nay..."

sometimes he just repeats in a normal tone, sometimes he gets louder and more demanding. i've found myself saying, "ok!"

see, no more green beans!

we told him to finish his veggies before he gets more noodles. he opens his mouth for us to check if he's chewed and swallowed it before giving him anything else. negotiating works for him!
