"I can hold my breath longer"

The boys had a contest going on who could hold their breath longer. Except that NJ was breathing through his nose within seconds. To further entertain them I brought out the stop watch. It went up to almost thirty seconds, but there's no way of knowing how long they were actually keeping it up. It kept them entertained, so it's ok! We had a few laughs over these silly boys.

Outdoor Movie Night

Movie night at the local Y. We had dinner, there were snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy. We watched UP, one of my favorites! We brought our chairs, blankets, and snacks. It was nice to get out and it was all free!

Fun with Ah-ma

Ah-ma and Gong-gong came to visit. NJ and Ah-ma had their fun playing memory, dominos, doing a puzzle, and watching a dvd together. It was very cute and sweet.

A Happy Fourth

Lots of fun at our friend's place doing fireworks. We love going every year to join their family. I'm not sure what NJ liked more the fireworks, playing with all the kids, or eating snacks non-stop. Maybe a combination of all of it.

"Just like the box!"

NJ asked for raspberries at the store because he said he wanted to put it on his cereal just like the picture on the box. I didn't know what he was talking about it until this morning when he excitedly pointed it out.
A nice dinner with the boys.

"Soon Dotty will be bigger"

NJ asks me almost everyday to go to sunny bridge park, at least that's what he calls it. He always asks me as we're driving past it to go some place else so the answer is almost always no. But today on the way home from school I took him. I feel bad always having to say no.

At dinner we both reach for our drinks at the same time. He says, "Be careful."
I say, "Ok, thank you."
NJ answers with, "No, I'm saying it to myself so I don't spill."
Well, that's good.

He grabbed a treat to give to Dotty. I told him he needs to ask first and he says, "But Dotty needs to eat so she can grow bigger. Soon Dotty will be bigger."
I tried to explain to him that Dotty is a small dog, she's full grown already and won't grow any more. That's her size. He thinks that everyone is still growing like him. He's always telling me I need to grow too. Nope, I'm full grown too.

Beach with the Boys

Someone wanted to play with the spinner out in the front yard and it fell apart. He asked me to put it back together, but some of it broke as I tried to put it back. So now he says that I broke it. Every time we pass it. Great!
We played a game or two of dominos.
A small trip to get some more sunblock turned into a big shopping trip to stock up.
A little beach trip with our boys. They had so much fun in the sand and in the waves. NJ spent almost the whole time playing with his sand toys. He's already asking to go back. On the way home he knocked out instantly. At home he was a crying mess from being tired. I had to wake him up, it was so hot in the car. Poor guy was cranky until going to bed. The price of having some fun!

Practicing Jumps

It was a great day for the pool. We even had some last minute guests to join us after church. The kids had lots of fun doing all kinds of jumps.
Regular jumps...
Belly flops...
Canon ball...
Jump through the ring...
And diving.
This is us trying to teach NJ how to dive. We said hands over your head and jump.
That didn't work so we tried to show him another way.
He was good at listening to directions, but it made for some good laughs. When we tried to teach him what a canon ball jump was we told him to hold his knees and jump. He did, but that's exactly what he did, he put his hands on his knees and jumped. I almost cried from laughing so hard. Then with diving, we told him to put his hands above his head while Baba tried to put him in position, but it looked more like he was being arrested than going for a dive. It makes me proud that he follows direction well, he always tried, and wasn't afraid. I'm glad we could do this since there were plenty of us (parents) to get them as they went in. That's the only reason why I could get out and take these photos too.
