Punch, Boats, and Piñata

Quick stop at target and of coarse he disappears into this aisle. I had to walk away before he followed.
Cheers to my friend's birthday!
What kind of punch is this?
Mmm... must have more!
Flying some string.
Some fun photos.
Mmm, a boat cake.
Yum!
Piñata time. Too bad we missed the breaking of it and the candy. He had to go for a bathroom break.
It's ok we missed the candy, here's a boat full!
Too bad Mama accidentally knocked it all over the car floor. Look at that face, it's a hard one to catch.  Boy, is he tired! Who cries over some spilled candy? This tired and cranky guy!
I knew it! Fell asleep for the long ride home. Hopefully this will help with the crankiness.

Games, Noodle Soup, and Up

After a nap in the car, someone has their energy back. Wish I could say the same for myself. I tried to hang in there. I lost twice, he kept sneaking up on me and putting me in jail!
It's been a while since playing memory and man has his game improved! We were almost even, he picked up matches so easily. Pretty soon he'll start beating us in every game.
Noodle soup with chicken, bok choy and tofu. NJ was having too much fun slurping his noodles, it was splashing everywhere. This is when he says, "Oh my eye! I got my eye!"
It makes me happy to see him using his chopsticks so easily now! He really liked the tofu, even cold. Just the way my dad and I used to it eat. No one else in our family liked it as much as we did.
Devotion and bedtime prayer time! I also read him a book that he got from his school library. It was Up, the story from the movie. He said, "It's the book that we watched the movie with Cameron and Connor in the theater, remember?" Yes, we did watch that movie with them, but it wasn't a theater, it was outdoors on a blow up screen. Glad he remembers and has a good memory of it. He also kept mentioning that the title of the story and movie is a sight word of theirs at school. We're always on the look out for those.

Donuts with Dad

NJ's excited about the morning's event at school! I didn't give him too much for breakfast because of it.
Dotty and NJ were both going from window to window as the rain came down, louder and louder. Good thing it wasn't too hard once they were leaving.
Donuts with Dad with his class!
The did portraits of each other, drew pictures, answered questions, and took photos. NJ said Baba was a hundred years old. The other day NJ's classmate called me NJ's grandma. Do we look that old?!
After school NJ fell into a puddle and had to ride home in soaking wet clothes. Good thing it was just from tripping and he was fine. It was an uncomfortable ride home, but he was ok. We stopped by home to get him changed. Then we headed out for some errands.
A stop at the bakery...
The japanese dollar (fifty) store...
The grocery store for a couple items and getting some dumplings to share.
The lady was so nice and gave him a cup full of puffs to eat (like popcorn).
We ate once we got home and played some chutes and ladders.
Plus a couple games of lego city. By the time we were done, it was time for a shower and getting ready for bed. Full day!

It's raining! I guess it's kind of a big deal since it hasn't rained much lately.
NJ still had a lot of lunch left and shared it with his friends. When they asked he said, "Yes! Anyone who asks is yes! I'll share my lunch with everyone!"
After school snack (even though he just finished up his lunch at the playground).
NJ and I played some board games in our room. We played chutes and ladders four times, candy land two times, and lego city game three times. He was being a pretty good sport, but frustrated towards the end because I kept winning. He did win candy land once and the city game once.
I hope tonight will be better. Last night he woke up crying loudly four different times. Each time we went in he'd cry in our arms as we tried to comfort him. He was crying so hard that he wasn't saying anything, if he was we couldn't understand any of it. We help him blow his nose, go to throw it away and when we get back he's back to being sound asleep. Finally, before he falls asleep for the night, he tells us what's wrong. He said that he was worried about the floor. How it will get fixed, when it will get fixed, by who, how much... How long will it be and what are we going to do until it's fixed. Oh my. I thought we were stressed about it! We explained to him the situation and answered all the questions he had, but I guess he was still thinking about it. Poor guy is worried for us. I'm surprised at how sensitive he is about it. It's nice that he cares that much and is worried about us and our house. I love his sweet and sensitive heart. He shouldn't have to be worried! We explained that everything was going to be fine, it'll be fixed and we don't have to worry about how, by who, or when... Because God's taking care of us and there's nothing to be scared of. Our house and our floor and everything we have is just stuff so it's not worth being upset over. My goodness... there's so many times (likes this) that I feel like God is talking to me through what I'm saying to NJ. I need to have faith in the things we tell and try to teach him.

The floor has been buckling in front of the fireplace. Hmm, now we know why.
It's spread all the way towards NJ's room and past the kitchen counters. Can't believe this is happening again!!! We're trying our best not to be too stressed, but this is not fun.
Just like last time, our furniture is piled into this room. There's still enough space to sit at our dining table which is helpful. We can still eat there and do homework and stuff.
We tried to explain to NJ what was going on when we picked him up from school. He doesn't remember the last time, he was still young then. Plus we had him staying with my mom until we had water running and it was safer. We just need to live with it this time. Let's see how long it takes to get our house back.
We brought his table into our bedroom for him to play legos. We've mostly been living in our room together just like before. He seemed to be happy just to sit at his table with his legos. Hopefully this is not too of putting for him.
