NJ showed me some mini cars from Ah-ma. He wanted me to tell him all the names of the racers that he had (from Cars 2), but I had no idea.
We did a little swimming in the afternoon. Not for as long since it's not that hot so the water's colder.
Baba and a little helper made some rice balls for the grill. How cute.
I did the veggies while Baba made the meat. We did yakitori and some friends brought everything to make some hand rolls plus some miso soup. So good. The kids ate more than expected too, which is always great!
The night wouldn't be complete without enjoying some s'mores. Baba was so thoughtful to make me one. Too bad I was already sugared out after eating a chocolate chip cookie and three macrons. By the time I got to the s'more I felt gross. The kids always enjoy it of coarse and that's what matters.

I miss Japan. I convinced the boys to come with me to the Japanese market to get some goodies that I miss. We also got some bentos for lunch. I almost felt like I was back there with the music, the sight and sound of the tv, the language, and everything in there. I will never look at Japanese markets the same, I'll always think of Japan.
NJ said he was tired before lunch and wanted to go lay down. I peeked in on him and he had snuggled himself in his little day bed seat with his stuffed animals.
Baba got his weight training workout by running around in the pool with a little someone on his back yelling, "faster, faster!"
Like son, like father.
I went in early to shower while the boys continued to play. I found them jumping in together belly flopping and Baba throwing NJ within the pool. He'd come out of the water yelling, "Again, Baba again!" He can't get enough of the pool.
Farmer's market today at the local downtown area. NJ loves to sample.
Sample some more.
And some more sampling.
There were lots of doggies out at the farmer's market. Must've been some special event. There were lots of dogs of every kind, fluffy ones, little ones, huge ones taller than NJ. We saw the most greyhounds and bulldogs. This greyhound was taking donations for a greyhound rescue. I asked to take a photo and let NJ give him a donation.
We ran into NJ's favorite friend again playing in the play ground!

NJ used an old set of ours to make these designs. Fun. I forget what it's called, from when my brother and I were little.
Back to school galore here. It was quite the list that we got. How do people do it, we only have one kid! We showed him all his school stuff when he got home. We thought about shopping with him to get him excited, but figured the list was so specific that it would be hard if he wanted something different. He's excited regardless, telling everyone he's going to a new school. We're excited too!
Trying on his backpack, he said he wanted it to fit like Zak's. Baba made it the tightest possible but it's still loose. Oh well, he'll be ok. This guy's growing up too fast!

Last day of pre-school with Miss Julia. It's pajama day. It's kind of sad that we won't be coming to this school anymore. NJ made some great friends that are all going to different schools from here.
NJ showing me his owie. I asked him if he told anyone what happened to his face. He said, "Yea, I told people so many times. I keep telling them and telling them. Miss Sara, Miss Julia, Miss Jenny, Zak, everybody. I said I was watching Cameron's dad's soccer and I fell." Poor guy must've had to say it so many times with everyone asking.

NJ wanted me to build tracks with him. I miss this!
We went to watch Uncle Scott's soccer game at the Y and grabbed dinner together. The boys ran around and kicked a soccer ball on the lawn. NJ took a bad fall scraping his face on the concrete. Poor guy looks like he took a punch with a big red mark on his eye. He got over it.

S'mores as our night time treat. I had a nice welcome back dinner complete with tempura, bulgogi, beans, cheese, and chips, chicken, and white rice. Multi ethnic, how appropriate. Sounds like a strange combo, but it was so good!
