thomas & lightening!

nj was so excited just to be wearing a thomas the train shirt and then more excited to put on his lightening mcqueen jacket! he turned up the charm at a yard sale and got a bag full of name brand clothes (and toys) for free! ha, ha. it was a while back, but it's taken me a while to wash & sort all of it. cycled out the 2t's on to the 3t's. and out with the shorts and tanks, in with the long sleeves and sweaters. even his uncle perry noticed the difference of his clothes looking slightly bigger. when a few weeks ago his clothiers were slightly small. he's growing too fast.

nj: i'm hungry

mama: ok, come sit down and eat.

nj: i'm going to play my cars...

mama: you don't want to eat?

nj: no, i don't want to eat.

he gets food and milk anyway. then plays with his cars and trucks.

"they kiss!"

what?!

"shake, shake, shake!"

he shook his tambourine and then maraca with me enthusiastically. but he was over it so fast, i tried to get him to do it again and he says to me, "i'm done." and tosses the tambourine on the rug. um, ok then!

"you put that one, i put this one."

his legos have been back out on toy rotation and i sat to build with him today. it made me realize how much more coordinated he is and how his sentences are expanding. even though he was bossy about which blocks went where and how they were to be built and taken apart, one by one. he decided to play with his cars instead, so i asked him to clean up his legos instead. he says, "no". everything in the last couple days is no. do you want milk? no. can you finish your milk? no. are you hungry? no. pause. then, i'm hungry.

"i want mama to eat more too"

i already hear it from baba and grandma, now my son? i know i don't eat much, but does he really notice? or maybe it's because he wants company while he eats. funny though, we ate about the same amount. he came home a little bit later tonight and the first thing out of his mouth was, "i'm hungry." we sat him down for milk and some dinner (even though he had eaten earlier already). when i asked him if he wanted more he said, "yeah. and mama eat more too." me? you want me to eat more? "i want mama to eat more too." he had three bowls of noodles, got his teeth brushed, and off to bed he went. i've hardly seen him since i haven't been feeling well, hopefully i'll be back to normal by this weekend. we'll see! gotta be more careful, so many people are sick. :(

"yogurt on my shirt, a little bit"

mavilla, as he always asks for... i guess i'm not surprised that he tried to eat it off his shirt when he got some on it.

"this one doesn't fit"

he has so many cars, not all of them fit in his track tunnel. he's been getting his little plane, boat, and other odd sized vehicles stuck there.

"where's my candy?"

i gave nj his little brown bag and said: "you need to hold on to this for your candy." he looks inside and says, "where's my candy? i washed his little jump suit costume this morning and brought it out to show him. i asked him if he wanted to change and he went to his room to get his pajama's. no, not to sleep! he said he wanted to wear his pants underneath (he was wearing corduroys), but i got him to change into slimmer pj type pants and a long sleeve shirt. he happily put the jumpsuit on, he smiled the whole time looking at it on himself, his arms, chest, and legs. i put the hat on him and he liked that too. whew. i didn't quite prep him for what was going on tonight, which i should have. we waited for baba to come home so we could meet up with his guh-guh and baby connor. when i told him that we were going to see them, he said: "and we going to see fish and dolphins!" no not today, nj. he really likes going to that library! ha, ha. the outfit was missing it's hat, but they also had a hat there that said tide racing on it, so we got that at the same time.

auntie was so sweet to go with him door to door. he held on to her hand the whole time, running just to catch up to her. i said to remember to say trick or treat and thank you. then after the first two houses, we had to also remind him not to go into people's houses. he didn't quite get it, anytime the door opened he'd just walk right in. thank goodness the people were so nice and just laughed. once he got the hang of it, he got really into it. he had a big smile, talked about candy, and had a bounce to his step. ha, ha. he eventually turned his hat to the side on his own, probably because he had a hard time seeing. it was cute, though, we called him the race car rapper.

"i pee pee in my pants!" yes, i'm sorry you didn't make it. we noticed he started showing signs of needing to go, but when we'd ask he'd say, "no". but i think that was only because he didn't want to miss out on anything. so baba took him anyway, along with uncle scott to his parent's house. it was a couple of streets over, but he didn't quite make it. he managed to hold it all the way until the jumpsuit came off, but not his pants and undies. oops. oh well... good thing we always keep a change of clothes for him! he kept saying that he wanted to be a race car driver more (probably because he wanted to keep going). but we told him that was it, just one time and we're done, no more. we all got in the car to head home when nj says, "baba! buckle!." ha, ha. baba said, "oops, i forgot. thank you." so on the way home, nj says, "baba forgot!" yes, that would have been bad. he's all about safety. also on the way home: "i'm hungry, i want candy." sorry, you're getting milk when you get home. he got a little bit of bread too. then it was off to bed for our little race car driver.

so cute how there was cookie decorating for the kids in between services. we were a few minutes early, so he got to do one quickly. funny, i've been thinking about how he'd enjoy this at home. he always loves to help and watch in the kitchen, i'm sure he'd want to decorate some baked goods at home.
