Every morning I find NJ already playing and building.
Making some chicken curry salad. Yum.
Cleaning up the spoon after mixing some muddy buddies. Mmm...

So much fun yesterday that we all overslept. NJ climbed in our bed this morning to snuggle with us. So cute and sweet, the best way to start the day. It was nice to lounge a bit in our pj's.
Bug game between lego building.
Had to get out to someplace cooler. What's better than to look at more set boxes?
Then a visit to Ah-ma's house where NJ got what he calls ha-jen-daws.
NJ rode his bike for a bit and then decided to sweep the floor.
Leftover turkey chili for dinner. Great family day together. :)

Baba, Auntie Becca, and I were around the table still talking. I spotted NJ on the day bed quietly reading Curious George to himself. Could't help taking a photo. He loves watching Curious George at Ah-ma's on PBS.
Pool time with Mama and Auntie! I lost track of how much time we were in, at least a couple hours. Auntie still calls him little fish because of how much he loves the water and dives a lot.
NJ really wanted Becca to watch the Lego Movie with him. It was hard for her to watch for the first time when he would recite most of it or tell her what was going on. They played a couple of games together after until Baba and Uncle were done with work in the garage.
A late dinner together. NJ was way past his bedtime but still enjoyed the food and company. We were happy to have visitors and company for the day!

The boys decided to work on building a bus together. NJ's been planning it out, collecting pieces, separating them and counting them. He showed Baba how he found a door to use as the emergency door, "...because every school bus has an emergency exit door."
The bus is coming together. I also noticed that he attached a claw to his garbage truck.
The bus isn't complete yet but there are already two passengers, both looking out the window. I asked him why a top hat and banana. I didn't get an answer.
NJ put himself in a pillow box on the couch.
It's a warm day and we were all excited for going in the pool, especially this one.
A quick visit to the store. NJ was asking, "Baba, can we stop to eat some food when they have some at those things?"
None today. Plus we were in a bit of a hurry. We needed to go deliver some photos Baba took for some friends.

A morning game that I lost and won to. I was still half asleep and in need of this big mug of coffee.
Just like when he used to play with his cars when he was little.
A stop at Ah-ma's for the legos he left there.
A game of Guess Who, it's getting better. Ha, ha.

Family Meeting over Smoothies

We sat to talk about our plans for the rest of this summer and for his next school year. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed at how easy going he was about everything we discussed. He was positive and excited, which is such a relief! I suppose I am not that surprised, I should have known.

It's been a while since going out on my Monday nights. And it's been a while since seeing my lovely book group ladies (at least some of them). I miss it. We had dinner and went to grab coffee together after. It was really nice catching up and hearing about each other's lives. It was also funny to be back where I lived for a year in college. I saw a lot of old familiar spots with lots of memories that came with it. After that I headed to meet my other group of ladies. It's been a few weeks with them too since there's been a lot of different things going on. I love what sweet friends they are to me in so many different ways.

Father's Day

All ready for church in their blue collared shirts, so cute!
Yay, the Takamoto's are here! Ah, the memories of Japan!
Doing a great job wiping down the table to get it ready for dinner.
And now picking lemons for Ah-ma to take home.
A game of Chutes and Ladders before they go. Actually two games since NJ won the first one and was upset that Ah-ma didn't win.
