Lego Party

NJ tried to draw the cover of this magazine. I didn't know what he was drawing until he showed me and then I understood.
He wrote his memory verse for the week on the back of the card. I like that verse and I think it's fitting.
Cleaning up his legos before going to a lego themed birthday party, he can't get enough.
It wasn't a long drive, but he still fell asleep. He woke up too early excited about where we were going.
I can already tell this is going to be great!
Ooh... death star piƱata.
NJ missed his chance to take any swings but he was fine with picking up all kinds of good candy. I got an extra twix by request. That was by far the least frenzied candy pick up I've ever seen. Good for NJ since he's always the kid that gets nothing or very little.
NJ watched the birthday boy open the movie mini figures we put in his gift.
Mmm, Auntie Jenny made a yummy rainbow sherbet ice cream pie.
One of NJ's favorite things, looking at lego boxes and talking about it. These two were talked to each other about it, how funny. NJ did not want to leave, he wanted to stay and play. And how could we blame him, he's been playing by himself with us being so busy. Mama and Baba are busy trying to do what we can to get ready to pack up. Must go home to pack and clean some more, we're exhausted, but running out of time. All I wanted to do was nap at home, but there was too much to do. Maybe I'll sleep a little more during the week.

X marks the spot

From the back wall, over and through the kitchen...
Behind the cabinets, behind the bathroom, the ceiling all the way to our room...
NJ's closet...
the water heater closet, the ceiling...
the laundry room walls and ceiling...
above our vanity area...
the walls and ceiling of the master bath...
the wall our bed is against, and the wall to the closet...
Everything marked off with tape and has an "x" is going to be torn into. It's most of our house! Any place that has a water connection, sink, shower, toilet, hose, tub, water heater, what else? Everyday we find out more or things change. We're totally confused, stressed, and slightly panicked at the same time. And still trying to make things as normal as possible for NJ. He prays every night for the pipe to be fixed. He was saying floor, but not he says pipes. He even prayed for the people working on our house. We feel bad about the subtle ways it's affecting him, but he's being a good sport about the constant changes and Baba and Mama being so distracted and preoccupied.
There's not a lot of room or stuff to do at home so we've been letting play at the playground after school and letting him stay a while. It's nice not to have to rush off and watch him enjoy himself and get energy out. Most of the time I'm too tired and just want to get home, but I'm feeling so overwhelmed at home it's good to get out.
We had a coupon for buy one get one free scoops, so Baba, NJ, and I shared some together.
NJ must've gotten my camera because I didn't take this photo! I told him to start picking out what he wants to play with so we can pack it and bring it with us.
Baba wrapped NJ up with a towel and Baba brushed his teeth like that before we lotioned him up and got his pi's on. He's been wanting to read another book or two at night before devotions. It's good, I'm glad he still likes us to read to him still. I love when he sits in my lap all snuggly. He's getting so big, I'll be sad someday when he doesn't want to sit with me to read.

The Lorax

Celebrating Dr. Seuss this week and it's dress up day. NJ seemed excited about it so we had to think of something. Baba helped me with cutting and gluing to make the mustache after I found the big orange shirt. He hasn't seen the movie so I pulled up a photo to show him this morning to tell him about his costume. When he saw it he giggled and said, "What?! That's silly!" I was happy he was excited and eager. I told him if anyone asks to say, "I'm the Lorax." He kept saying it to me all the way to school.
While NJ was at school, Baba and I did our best to clean up and move stuff. I went through NJ's preschool art projects, so cute. I wish I could keep them all!
I reminded him this morning not to use the mustache to hit anything or anyone. I was afraid it would be a mess by the end of the day. When I picked him up, it was still in tact! The school had a party the last hour with cupcakes. He really wanted it right away.
Oh boy, the cupcake didn't even last before getting into the car. I suppose that's better with less mess.
He took some time after school to put his lego game back together before starting homework.
Still lots of cutting, drawing, coloring, and glueing to do!
Yay, we're done! He's finished his book, "If you give a pigeon a popcorn".  It turned out great, we're proud of him for doing a nice job.

For the homework we worked on today, we needed to explain what a background was in a picture. We showed him examples in his books and magazines. Funny how you don't think about things until you're asked about it or when you get a blank face.
NJ decided he'd try Baba's back massager (or whatever it is).
He didn't like it, he said it hurt.
But he had no problem with hooking Baba's head with it.
Or sticking it in his ear.
Dotty came along as we played a game to sniff the pieces. She looks giant with the scale of the people on the game and pieces. She likes to poke her nose around with whatever we're doing.
He asked to watch a show while we were getting dinner prepared. I told him to bring in his own chair.
Looks so lonely sitting by himself.
After a good dinner and a nice bath, it's time for bed. It seems like he's taking longer and longer to take his clothes on and off. Shouldn't it get faster? He likes to mess around too much.

"It's gonna be so shiny!"

Me and Baba have a view of our concrete floor while eating lunch.
Every night NJ prays that: "Baba will feel better, Mama won't get sick ever, and the floor will get fixed soon." Poor guy, things have not been it's usual around here and I think he's feeling it. We were told today that the re-piping would start tomorrow. It had us freaked out until they gave us more time to move our stuff and prepare. This is going to require more patience from all of us.
After school we went to the chinese market and NJ begged for a snack.
Someone is restless after school for his snack.
NJ got a rice roll, he loves these. He was enjoying it so much. I told him not to take such huge bites!
Some homework
Time to clean the bathroom. NJ is getting really good at cleaning up in there. I'm so proud!
He even asked to clean his mirror, which he also did a nice job with. When I went to get him a cloth he yelled from the bathroom: "I want to clean the mirror, it's gonna be so shiny!"
He sprayed the mirror at first, but I had to tell him to hurry to wipe since it was dripping so fast. When he needed more cleaner, I watched him put the rag on the nozzle to spray directly into it. I said, "Wow, aren't you smart?! That's the way to do it." He tells me, "That's what Ah-ma does, I saw her do it like this, she taught me." Well, way to be observant!
Since Baba has been sick and the rest of the house is a disaster, I've been bunking with my little man. He loves to snuggle with Mama, he's been saying the sweetest things to me as we snuggle up to sleep.  He always gives me a kiss (usually landing on my eye) and says, "I love you, Mama. I like it when you sleep next to me."
Tonight he whispered to me, "I love you always Mama."
Before bed he told me, "I love you Mama, forever."
He's making my heart melt, melt, melt!
