Our neighbors had planned a yard sale for today, so we had a small one too. Trying to make room for a second car again. It's been a long time! We got rid of a lot today, it felt good. NJ was a good sport for the most part, he rode his trike, blew some bubbles, and played with some cars he found. He made himself comfortable on the pathway. I said, "Hey what are you doing lying on the ground? It's dirty!" He says, "I'm laying on my arm!" Does that really make a difference?
First water balloon and first time using a water gun. He didn't even know what to do with either of them! But he had a lot of fun squirting water once he figured out how to use it. It was almost bigger than him.
Picnic at the park and play time... These boys had so much fun! No one's even looking in this picnic photo, but we considered it a good thing that they were all busy eating.
We didn't have anything in particular planned for today, but somehow we really filled it up! The important thing is that NJ had fun.

"Look Mama, it's Lightning McQueen poo poo!"

I found a Thomas book hidden in a box. I don't know what it was doing there, but NJ was happy to have it!
We were cleaning our garage today and so were our neighbors. We went to visit and NJ got to feed the fish again. I never noticed before that there's a goldfish in the pond. It's the size of a small koi, but gigantic for a goldfish- the biggest I've ever seen.
It was so hot in the house, we took a trip to Target for a stroll and some A/C. Plus I heard that all Target Starbucks had a buy one get one free Frappacino's. Refreshing! I got one for me one for Baba. As we strolled the baby section, NJ saw the Cars toilet seats and said: "Look Mama, it's Lightning McQueen poo poo!"
An after dinner walk felt great. We also got to meet and chat with our new neighbor across the street.
While driving to Target NJ said, "If a shark and a dolphin walk in the street and the car comes, then what?" I was so confused! What? Is that supposed to be a joke that he heard and is repeating? Is it just his imagination or is it an actual question from curiosity? So strange. I said, "A shark and a dolphin? You mean what happens to them?"
NJ- "Yeah, are they gonna get run over?"
M- "Well, I guess if they're in the street then yes. But sharks and dolphins swim in the ocean and cars drive on the road."
NJ- "Buy why?"
Oh dear, why does everything come to "but why"?

Yesterday during lunch NJ asked me, "Why Baba not eating with us?" Baba was finishing up some work while we got started on lunch. I said, "Baba's working hard. For me and especially for you."
NJ- "Oh, that's so nice! Can I say thank you to Baba?"
M- "Yes, of coarse. Baba would appreciate that."
NJ- "When I'm bigger and I'm working hard then Baba can say thank you to me?"

"But I want Cooper to stay all day."
NJ and his cousin played, ran around, and snacked together. So cute to watch them grow up. We were so happy to see them and spend some time together.
"I want to weed too."
Nice that he wanted to help, but actually he wanted to ride his trike.
It was so hot, taking a dip in the pool felt great! We tried out his floaty and he liked it, thank goodness! A yard sale find well worth it for fifty cents. :)
"I can froat!"
Someone got in big trouble for writing where he wasn't supposed to. He really wanted to practice writing his numbers, I guess! Ugh. I don't even know why we haven't taken the dusty crib out yet. Gotta find a place to store it or give it away.

Library Play Date

NJ had a fun time visiting two libraries today! One with story time, songs, and a craft. Another with cool toys and puzzles. Both with great company. :)

"Hello little me!"

I was cooking in the kitchen and heard NJ behind me. I asked him, "Are you saying, hello little me?" I turned around and saw him playing with his class placemat with his photo on it. Yup, that's what he was saying. He was repeating it over and over... "Hello little me, hello little me, hello little me!"

Another Date Night

"Can I do homework?"

"Mama, can I have pancake?"
Sitting and waiting for me to make them he tells me: "When I'm bigger I want to drive to get money... To buy food and pictures and table... And lotion for Mama and Baba."
What?
"Lotion, I said!"

With the last of his pancake, he rolled it in a ball and said: "Is this a elephant? He has feet and his back opens. Oh, no tail! Wee, wee, wee..." As he hops it along his plate. Strange imagination.
I know there's more than enough photos of NJ eating all the time. But I was so excited about making food at home again, using the kitchen, and sitting down comfortably to eat.
"Can I do homework?" Sure! He has some left over sheets of homework from his class and wants to do them. I'm happy he's enthusiastic about it, hopefully it'll last.
NJ came in the room while I was still sleeping and he was already dressed again. He was ready to go and I wasn't! I woke up to him breathing on me. And Baba got dressed without seeing NJ first. This happens a lot- the two of them dressing alike. Today it was jeans and a yellow shirt. Silly boys.

Home Sweet Home

Yay, our home is back in order! Some more furniture adjustments today and putting things in it's place. NJ happily helped to put his toys away. Well, for a short time anyway... He quickly made himself comfortable playing and making a mess again. It's nice that he has his play area back.
We opted not to replace the entry wall mirror, it's so expensive! Eventually we'll find a framed mirror to hang. At least that's the plan.

Making do with the mess. Poor guy, I have to find a place for him to eat for every meal.
Guess what else is a mess!
Helping Uncle Dan put away his guitar and cords.
I'll help you, Nathan...
Lunch with some friends. So cute, they both wanted to sit next to NJ. They're all waiting for the buzz to know the food is ready.
Aww... I had nothing to worry about, NJ had help everywhere he went!
