Birthday Party Fun

It took some time for NJ to get comfortable with playing on all the bouncy stuff so he played the free driving game several times. He couldn't reach the pedals though, I did that for him while he steered.
Finally, his auntie went on a couple slides with him and that was the end of it. He always takes a little bit of warming up. After that he was off and running, half the time Baba and I looked at each other wondering where he was. He was off having fun.
Baba helped NJ (and some of his friends) with some slam dunks.
Time for all the sweaty kids to fill their tummies.
He was so excited about unwrapping the cupcake slowly and carefully.... He opens his mouth for the first big bite and plop, he drops it!
We give him a slice of cake instead, no more cupcakes.
Why is there always a kid with an electronic device at every party? Of coarse, our deprived son is glued to it.
NJ dashed out the door after Baba wanting to help him, but I was in a panic chasing him out the door into the parking lot.
After dropping off the gifts, the birthday girl and birthday boy both enjoyed a ride on the way back. NJ happily helped with pushing.
Some after party crafts with the kids. Followed by some Chick-Fil-A and a DVD. All snuggled up in their own blankets, how cute.

These two running around as they always do, stopped only for a couple photos.

It's suddenly cold again, a really chilly day. NJ showed us how his teacher taught him to put a sweater on in an easier way. He said to start with putting the hood on first and then one sleeve at a time. But not everyone was listening to the teacher about it, he says. He also showed his new shoes to the teacher and his friends zak and noah. His other shoes didn't last long at all, they were so torn up. He's playing much rougher. At least I got a great deal on them, the only thing we actually buy.

Family Movie Night

NJ happily ate his entire dinner to get his movie treats. We had an early dinner to leave time for our movie night.
Someone was so excited at his spread of goodies... Some popcorn, pretzel m&m's, reese's pieces, yogurt raisins, oreos and chocolate milk. This has never happened! But he earned it. Funny, he could have all he wanted and he really didn't eat very much of it. We were happy for his self control.
We're so proud and happy to see him enjoy himself.

"Movie Night, Movie Night!"

NJ waited so patiently for me while I was in a meeting. I brought him a big bag of stamps, stickers, coloring books, his sketchbook, and a box of cars.
After, he had the treat of ice cream at our friend's.
Followed by a feeding frenzy of chips galore. These are the chip crazed boys who couldn't keep their hands out of the can.
We even had time to build more legos together. He did a pretty good job of starting the build himself. Then he told me exactly which step was next.
After only two weeks of our new chart and system, NJ got to choose his first reward. He chose to have a movie night (which we've never done) plus popcorn, m&m's, and maybe even some chocolate milk. Can't wait to snuggle up on the couch together as a family. We're so proud of him!
So cute how NJ loves our little devotional time.
