Normally for Valentine's we stay in and cook dinner together. We like to avoid going out. but this year we were invited to a date night of archery lessons and a shabu shabu/kbbq dinner. I was nervous about archery and figured I'd probably hurt myself. But actually, it was a ton of fun! I didn't think it was something that I could actually do and it was a lot of fun. I've never tried, but Baba used to do archery as a kid. I'm very hesitant to ever try anything new so I'm glad I could get over my hesitation and anxieties of trying new things.

He loves looking at these and telling us which books he wishes he had.
Baba was making soup for us so we played a couple games until it was done.
NJ also started a bracelet too before dinner.
His favorite Oh-leev Garden soup. So, so yummy. Baba makes the best food!

Brunch with my best friend who drove all the way over just to visit! We went to Euro pane, close by. It was so yummy! We shared some quiche and coffee.
Instead of pencils this Valentine's I thought we'd make something instead. Won't cost anything since NJ has plenty of broken crayons. Some of the paper was hard to take off. NJ asked me, "Mama why are you making the crayons naked?"
I chopped up the crayons. I wasn't sure how small the pieces should be, but I was hoping this was ok.
We tried to evenly distribute the different colors.
Got a little worried until we were able to pop them out.
Not bad, colorful heart crayons.
Some of them were too thin and cracked as we tried getting them out.
NJ wanted to show me the new mixel creation he made.
I scored the hearts so we could fold them.
He wanted to sign the one for his teacher.
NJ had to go to sleep so Baba helped me with gluing the printed text I cut out. It said, "I (heart) my friends." I almost forgot about needing these for tomorrow. Everyone's bringing Valentine's to pass out to each other. It's nice that we didn't have to spend any money because we already had all these things. And it was so fun to make! Hope the kids like them!

He made up three sentences for his homework...
I like kettle corn chips because they are salty and sweet.
I love soccer because I get to kick the soccer ball in to the goal.
I love George Washington because he was our first president.
He spelled all the words on his own by sounding them out.
Baba is reading his new devotional from Ah-ma. So cute.

Trying out his new shin guards. Baba is helping him put it on and putting long socks over it.
He did even better today. And we were more prepared with something to sit on this time.
Good night, buddy. You did great on homework and soccer today.
I made a few Valentine's for friend's. One of my friend's invited me and a couple other ladies out for dessert. It's been a while, it was an unexpected surprise.

It's over, it was all so fast!
Visiting with Ah-ma, picking up Dot, and going to dinner.
We met with Ah-gong too at a nearby restaurant.
