"The cookies on the bus go crunch, crunch, crunch!"
Fitting since I made peanut butter crunch cookies today. But he made this up and sang it in the morning before I started baking. We had a pool time play date with some friends. NJ was so excited, when he rode his little motorcycle around he'd yell to Yuuki, "Ride with me, ride with me, let's go shopping!"

"Are the sea lions coming too?"
All ready for another round of Sea World!
Take a picture with guh-guh (big brother).
Now take one with di-di (little brother).
Beluga whale, polar bear, and walrus. We managed to see them this time.
Penguins! In the dark and out in sun.
Bay of play. I didn't think about him playing in water or I would have brought his swim shorts. Oh well, he managed to only get a part of his pants wet and it dried in no time.
We caught the Sesame Street show.
What a surprise! NJ runs into his girlfriend!
Up close with the sea lions.
And even closer to the dolphins. I couldn't catch a photo of them jumping and swimming in front of us. Oh well. It was so close, NJ seems a little spooked when they'd swim by.
This isn't the only thing he ate all day, but he really enjoyed it! I figured out every dessert displayed there, this was the least harmful. Funny, he didn't even eat much of it. He didn't like the cream and scooped it all out. After that, there wasn't much left.
Pretty red, white, and blue lights.
All three boys knocked out! What a day! So happy we got the invite to tag along. :)

"Mama can we make cookies now?"
I shouldn't have mentioned making cookies today because he kept asking. He was helping until he said it was taking too long and started pulling stuff from the cabinet. He grabbed little bags of candy that he got from someone and I was surprised with what happened!
NJ- "Mama, can I have this?"
- "No, I don't want you to have candy right now."
NJ- "This is candy? Because it's bad for me? Candy is bad for me?"
- "Yes, candy is bad for you."
NJ - "Then can I throw it away?"
- "Why?"
NJ - "Because it's bad. So I don't eat it."
Before I know it I hear the trash open and close.
- "You threw it away?"
NJ- "Yeah. Because it's bad for me."
I was proud of him for not demanding the candy. And earlier in the day while we were at Target he kept asking, "Can I see the cars?" We went through the car aisle (the second day in a row). After we strolled through and he got a good look at all the cars, trucks, and vehicles he wanted, I moved on. I was proud of him for waving and saying, "Bye cars, bye!" I don't know how I'd handle him begging me for stuff, luckily he's pretty easy going.
"I want to read this all day, all day, all day!"
NJ's favorite books right now are these two... Chocolate Chippo Hippo and Peanut Butter Rhino. I read it to him an average of five to ten times a day whenever he asks me. His favorite books change now and then. It used to be two of his train books that I'd read over and over. At least he gives me some variation once and a while!
NJ has some repetitive phrases that he says a lot. Although he's already saying them all much less. He says:
"(But I want Baba home) all day, all day, all day!"
"(But I want to...) every day, every day, every day!"
(His version of are we there yet?) "Are we done with the freeway?"
"Are we going now?"
"Where are we going? After that where are we going? Then where are we going?"
"So when we going to see the firemen work?"
How cute, the little ones together.
Are Auntie's cookies yummy?
Mmm, popsicle! (He only had a bit of it because it was cold out!)
First sparklers and pop its. He looks excited and scared at the same time. I'm so happy he finally decided to try it this year.
Sporting his bright ear plugs.
Aww, someone's all snuggled up!
I talked to him about how we were going to see fireworks. After all that he later said to me, "So when we going to see the firemen work?"
"Not firemen work, fireworks!" I asked if he wanted ear plugs so it would't be too loud for him. The rest of the day he kept asking, "Do we have the ear plugs? Can I have the ear plugs? Don't forget the ear plugs!" Ok! NJ was so excited for fireworks, even the smallest displays of it. I'm happy he loves it again this year. Similar to how he was with the pool... Loved it the first year, was terrified the second, and now back to loving it. What is it about him being two? Is it age related? I hope it doesn't alternate from year to year! We all had a great time.

Lunch Date with Auntie
He got curry sauce all over his face, hands, arm, shirt, and pants. I tried to get as much of it off as I could. Outside of Curry House, no one would know it was curry, it just looks gross! People will think I just leave crusty poo all over the poor kid.
When I told NJ we were meeting with Auntie Janell and he says, "And Auntie Jenny? I want to see Yuuki." We had a nice stroll around Target. Auntie was so sweet to let him pick out one hot wheel. And also gave him all kinds of fun goodies in a little backpack that he wore. All through Target he'd stop and say, "Mama can I put this back?" Anything out of place had to be put with all the others. Crazy. He's just like me.
"You have enough bags for Dotty's poo?"
NJ wanted to wear his spy glasses during dinner. He wanted me to wear them too, but I could hardly see while eating.
He asked to go play after dinner, but I suggested going for a walk instead. Since he wore his spy glasses during dinner, I asked if he wanted his sunglasses for our walk. He said yes so I got it out of the car and put it on for a second. After a picture he tells me, "I don't want it anymore." I should have known! As we're walking he says, "Oh, we forgot the bag!"
- "What bag?"
NJ- "The bag for when Dotty poo."
- "I have it."
NJ- "How many?"
- "I have several, don't worry."
NJ- "You have enough bags for Dotty's poo? One, two, three, four, five, thirty?"
We saw our new neighbors again and we stopped to say hi. They said their dog eats the weight of our dog. Ha, ha. I'm sure we'll meet the dog too one of these days.

"I ate too much pie"
We had lunch with friends and our pastor and his family joined us too. What a pleasant surprise! I was so engaged in conversation, I didn't take a single photo of all our kids sitting together and playing. We got to exchange adoption stories, I love hearing about other people's adoption experiences. They're always so different and so amazing. All three of their children are adopted and they are also fostering children through the county. Wow, such big hearts they have!
Dinner was with Ah-ma and Gong-gong (grandma and grandpa, Baba's mom and dad). They were nice enough to come visit us. Three of us got meals that came with a slice of pie for dessert. NJ got some of Ah-ma's chocolate pie. On the way home he says, "My tummy hurts, I had too much pie." Silly guy. It would have been better if he didn't have any, but he enjoyed the few bites that he had. He was a good eater, but not a very good listener. He got a time out while we were there.
