play date with cousin

we had a full house this morning! cousin cooper came to play along with uncle chris, auntie julie, and her parents, plus grandma and grandpa! the boys played nicely while the adults drank tea and talked. :)

so many cool cars! i asked him which ones he wanted to take a picture with and these were the ones.

and summerfest

lunch time!

first ride ever. he (as auntie said) was holding on for dear life. he looked quite terrified, but was ok. guh-guh tried to get him to go on another one with him and he shook his head, wide eyed, "no, no." ha, ha, poor guy, i think the ride was too fast for him!

he played a free game throwing a ball into a board with holes (marked 10, 20...). he tried several times and actually made one! everyone was surprised. he got to pick out a toy, he wouldn't let go of it the rest of the time.

baba let him try the ring toss with him. most of them that he threw ended up behind him. ha, ha.

"mama, read!"

"mama, watch!"

"call mama"

he kept putting the fake phone to my ear. then he got a hold of mine and said, "see ji-yung." which means he wants to see the photo of himself on my phone. he pressed the button over and over until I said no more and put it away

"baba loves you!"

funny, he said that to himself as he climbed up sit with baba.

"bump, bump"

as he pulls his trains, cars, and trucks over the grooves of the rug.

"more chicken!"

he was so good when we took him to eat at chick-fil-a. it made him very happy that we let him choose which sauce he wanted to dip. every time he'd say, "which one?" with a smile as he made his choice. when he ate all his nuggets he said, "more chicken!" but there was no more. sorry buddy!

as we walked to the car he said to me: "mama, so many pick-up trucks!"

"want ice cream"

i told him he'd get some when we got home. i ate the top, took a couple bites of the cone and gave the rest to him. at the first bite he said it was too cold, but just kept eating.

i'm not tired

nj was so sleepy that his head was nodding and his eyes were rolling like a drunk! it was quite funny. i asked him just before falling asleep if he was tired and he shook his head no with a big smile.

where's dot dot?

the middle of her bed was raised so i gently nudged it with my foot. there she was under her bed with her head barely visible. i wouldn't be surprised if she was hiding from nj. he saw crumbs on the floor near the kitchen and called for her. he kept pointing at it and said, "dotty eat crumbs." poor dot dot must be getting old, she's not doing as good of a job as our vacuum lately. or maybe her standards have raised since she can sometimes get the real thing from nj.

my favorite snack!

"all over face"

he always gets yogurt all over his face when he eats it, now he tells me before i even say it (usually as i wipe his face and hands).

today he said to me: "mama, it's not raining today."

"go to sam's club!"

we tell him we're going to sam's club and he'll run to the door and get his shoes. then he'll call us as if to tell us to hurry up! silly boy. on the way there he said, "buzz, no trains." (buzz lightyear, not thomas the train playing on the display tv's)

"bump, bump."

he likes when we go over those yellow bumps while he's sitting in the cart. every time we go he asks for the bump, bumps.

"baba over there!"

"cheerio! want some?"

that's what he calls a churro. he always wants some, but he makes such a mess.

sunday at HOPE

surprising things that came out of nj's mouth today!

"sun behind the clouds." (it was a cloudy morning)

"it's a lucky day!" (after seeing 3 mini coopers, his favorite car)

"mama choke herself." (after me hacking over a drink that went down the wrong way)

"auntie becca down stairs." (seeing her at the bottom of the steps as we walked down)

"play play do with gabby." (they played with some in sunday school)

"oh my goodness!" (he must've picked that up in class today, he said it the rest of the day)

our first sunday back, which was really nice. no one was in the toddler room when we first got there so he got upgraded to join the next class up. he talked the rest of the day about gabby. baba said he really enjoyed the play kitchen in the room.

books for me?
