excitement ensued when grandma and nj discovered that there was a real backhoe loader outside the apartment window. Not just a picture in a book. he came back to immediately look for it in his book to point it out. and he wanted to go again and again to the window to see it! i wonder what he'd think seeing it up close, in it's actual scale.

nj saw us dipping our pita bread in to the hummus, and he insisted on doing it too. so he got a little mound of it with pieces of pita. along with chicken, beef, and tomatoes. he asked for the peppers (by pointing at the yellow ones), but we assured him he didn't want it. :) he was very well behaved as we talked with our friends, his auntie emily and uncle rex. a little someone had a lot to eat, hence the smile...

we told him that uncle jason brought blocks for him. so as he played, he'd point to them and say, "uncle jason".

nj plays with his cars and trucks all over. when he gets close to me, he always says, "gentle".

we all tell him to not get too close and to be gentle with mama.
