This dresser has been around since my childhood, it used to be my brother's. Then I took it eventually, I don't remember when exactly. It's never matched anything, but I never thought about changing it either. But after working on projects around the house and fixing up furniture I figured why not? Let's try it. It might make our bedroom less drab and so mismatched. We'll see.
We picked out the color yesterday, a dark orange almost red. I'm not sure until I see it together. But Baba did a great paint job.
We met up with some friends, we haven't hung out together in a while and we miss it. The boys played scrabble slam, which is a great learning game for them. They did well with spelling and vocabulary. We also braved street parking in old town on a Saturday night to go to 85c. That was an adventure! We brought it back to hang out at our place until 11:00pm! The boys were playing so well and having so much fun, it was hard to get them to stop. So glad they had fun.

NJ came home from school with bunny ears and face and two bags of loot.
NJ vacuumed up all the sand that came out of his shoe. Dot was really upset about it.
NJ and his friend looking at the fishies. How cute.

NJ took Baba's measuring tape and wanted to measure everything. I offered to help hold the end since  it wouldn't stay and I didn't want it to snap back at him.
NJ wanted to make his own pizza. He made a happy face for himself.
Mmm, glad I had time to make whole wheat dough earlier.
We invited two of our neighbors to come have some cheesecake I made. This is the only way we'll eat any, sharing it with other people and not having left overs. It was nice to have them over. It was sweet how much they enjoyed the photos we had up.

A fun paint date with my close friend. Of all the years we've been friends I don't know how we never got to paint together. Finally we get to sit, relax, and chat. If only I wasn't trying to frantically start a cheesecake.
NJ came home from school with a note from one of his classmates. So cute and funny, NJ's already getting phone numbers!
He was happy to see Auntie at our house so he wrote about her. How sweet.

NJ was dressed and reading his library book this morning.
He was surprised and happy to find a second grade work book. This weekend when we cleaned I also organized some of his stuff. He said, "Mama, I have a second grade work book?! Yay! Hey, I can do this! Thank you."
Wow, over a work book? Made me laugh, but glad he's excited.
NJ's been begging to go to his classmate and buddy's house. Without him knowing, I arranged it with his mom and we had a play date at their house. They played so nicely and us moms got to chat and get to know each other. We have more in common than we thought, it was kind of funny.
NJ said that the homework for today was optional since they had the day off. No school on a Tuesday was really weird and threw us off. I asked him to do the homework anyway. He didn't want to, but it was easy and he did it fast.

NJ picking out some books. He finished his homework already and we headed to the library. When we were almost there he said, "Wait! Mama, did you bring the libury card?"
I quickly made a turn to go back home. I know he was shaking his head at me in the back seat. I made three more rights to go back towards the library because I realized the card was under his name and I could still get one too. I didn't want to go all the way home again if we were almost there. NJ thought it was fun that we went in a circle. I told him, "I'm sorry, Mama doesn't know what she's doing right now."
He did some reading while at the library.
NJ took some time to concentrate on trying to use a magnetic pen to get the ball all the way through the maze.
He did it a few times and was so proud.
He got three books and he's excited to bring them home. Hopefully we can keep this up every week.
A little bike riding since homework is done. I tried his scooter and got more comfortable so we started racing. Me on the razor, him on his bike. He always beat me because he'd take the turns tighter than me. I got a bit too confident after a few times around and decided I could make it through the space between the wall and pillar after the turn. Nope. At least my reflexes were just quick enough that I hit me hand on the wall before my face and shoulder. I still made it to the finish line, but I told NJ, "Ok I'm done, Mama's too old for this. I'm tired now."

While waiting NJ wanted to put his head on my lap. The light from the windows was really nice.
NJ made some glasses out of his sticks.
He laughed when I tried them on.
NJ with his buddy and guh-guh.
Baba made me a ring. We loved getting together and we could celebrate Uncle Scott's birthday.
