Minecraft Party

In the morning NJ was already dressed and made a boat! The things he gets done while Mama's sleeping.
All ready for the birthday party with his gift! Have fun!
Someone was happy about eating and swimming!
Baba took NJ while I stayed home. I didn't have to ask what he ate because there's a picture of everything he put in his mouth!
I didn't even know it was a swim party. I thought for sure Baba had said it was at a park. We blame each other of coarse for the misinformation, haha!
I could tell he had so much fun! Glad the boys could go, wish I could have too.
Later, we had our group over for some play time. Everyone's hungry, including baby! We had quite the feast as we always do. Korean fried chicken, bulgogi with rice and veggies, pizza, salami and cheese, carrots, lots of fruit, and smoothies for dessert.
After dinner the kids watched a movie together.
On the other side, we relaxed and talked a while.
The girls played a math version of battleship while the boys played with the bop-it. How nice that they were occupied and having fun on their own!

Quick, hide the legos before NJ sees them! Still being washed by Baba.
Had to sneak this in... his worried or anxious face.
Ah-ma got him the car transporter yesterday. We thought, wow what did he do to charm her into that?! He said it was for his graduation. Hmm... I guess.
NJ watched a dvd while Baba did some work and I went to the room to rest.
He told me he was going to write me a surprise note.
What a sweetheart, he came in to give me this note: Mom, I love you because I love you.
He gave me a gentle hug, kisses, and said: "Feel better, Mama. Hope your tummy heals soon."
Made me melt!
So nice to see him playing and hear him in the house. I love to hear him talk, laugh, and play. It's been so quiet.
Baba showed NJ photos he was working on.
He decorated a card and gift bag for a friend's birthday coming up.
Later in the day, we worked on the kitchen. Baba pulled the couch over so I could lay down. I helped by telling him what to keep, pack, and give. He laughed at how I was enjoying watching him work. But actually, I would enjoy doing the work myself more! That's the sad part, I can't relax even when I'm forced to.
What a mess, every counter space is full. But it's getting better.
I'm a little sad to see these go. I've had most of these since college. Two for ninety-nine cents and the ninety-nine cent store. I liked that everyone could tell which was theirs. Time to let them go along with other plates and bowls and random stuff I have way too much of! This is what happens when you like collecting things. In my case, I love cute and cool dishes, especially old vintage pyrex stuff. If only this was all I collect, then it wouldn't be such a problem.

My last post was April 20th, how did this happen?! Lots to catch up on! I'll be updating past dates slowly. I had a visit to the hospital at UCLA, which turned out to be a great visit in a weird way. We got moved back into our house, sort of. We decided to clean through everything while we were at it. There was mother's day, NJ finished school and had his kindergarten promotion. Then I just had surgery, a very minor one to correct some annoying painful scars. I feel like it's been non-stop. Now I'm not supposed to do anything for about a week which seems impossible and frustrating. No exciting photos from today, just the current state of our house in the midst of our clean up. And we got rid of a truck load of furniture today to a friend. Our old coffee table, shelf, a bench, two barstools, and two rugs. Now that we know NJ is so sensitive to dust, it's hard to keep them around. Especially the wool one. It's too bad because they're really nice rugs, but we got good use out of them! So glad they have found good homes to someone that can use it. It feels good to give and purge. We're on our way to a cleaner home!

Scar Correction

Going through the kitchen we found an old stash of old strips and needles from checking my blood and getting insulin. I forgot about it so finally I can dump it here at the hospital safely. My high sugar comes and goes as my health goes up and down. But so far so good, haven't needed to go back to checking or anything. As long as my liver continues to do well. It's never fun to go backwards.
My foot wardrobe changes as I wait for surgery. Today was a first, the nurse injected me with something to numb me before putting in an IV. That was weird, that's never happened before and I was shocked. He said that's what they're doing now and I should ask for it. I told him I wouldn't dare because I'd look like a complete wimp. It was the easiest IV stick ever, though. The doctor came to visit before going in. I was so excited to get this done and over with! It wasn't a great time to do it, we have way too much going on. I don't know when a good time would ever be. There will always be something completely inconvenient about it. Just have to deal with it. I want my annoying, itchy, growing scars to go away. Better now than any time I suppose. I won't be able to help with putting the house back together for another week or two. Besides not doing much in general for the next week. It's worth it still and I can't wait to see how it looks!

Quick stop before hitting the road to church. NJ was hungry so he started right away. Hoping we can get our kitchen in order sooner rather than later so we can start using it the way we want.
Last minute sit before donating our rocking chair to the nursery. We heard that there weren't enough and one was broken or not working well. I'm so glad it's going to good use since we really haven't been using it much. We have a bad habit of collecting chairs. It's hard to resist, we love free furniture, especially chairs. At least we get to visit and sit in it if we really wanted to.
NJ said this is the line for bus. That's a quite a few passengers waiting!
Ah-ma gave him a popsicle and asked him to eat it outside. When I tried to take a photo, he stood up and said, "Look, I'm like the statue of liberty!"
Hmm... ok.
He read me both these books today. I'm so happy he can read by himself now and it's the cutest thing to hear him read to us.
