Day three and we're getting slightly better at the morning routine. NJ was ready early enough to have a little bit of play time before we had to leave. Although he kept saying, "Come on, when are we leaving? Are we going yet?" Man, don't be too eager, everyone's going to find out how boring we are as parents!
Oh my goodness, he looks like a big boy with his hair cut and big back pack.
It's a good thing it's just a pillow and extra clothes in the back pack otherwise it would easily be too heavy. Although he could probably do it easily with his unusual strength. He specifically asked me to pack him a pillow because he didn't have one. But he said Kinsley shared hers with him when they slept next to each other yesterday. Hmmm, ok. Later he said that I got him the wrong pillow, he wants the bean pillow with wings just like Kinsley's. Oh my. He's been talking about this girl every day. I know she's the cute little blond, so adorable! He still likes the blonds!
All lined up for the pledge of allegiance, prayer, and announcements.
This is not the norm at all, but I had to get him some treats again today. I'm so proud of him for doing so well in first few days of school and he's been so good with listening. I think now that he's got a routine again, he has somewhere to put his energy and he's getting better sleep. Plus he was a good eater for dinner. I gave him his favorite, rice, corn, and chicken. But he kept saying, "I don't want chicken. Just rice and corn." I gave it to him anyway. He still said, "I don't want the chicken. I said I don't want it, Mama." As he's saying it, he also starts eating it. He cleaned his plate and even ate some tofu and mushrooms. He asked me so many times for Pirate's Booty that I gave him some after eating so well. On Wednesday I brought him some as an after school snack. As we're driving home he says, "Mama, Pirate's Booty is pirate's butt."
What?
"Pirate's Booty is pirate's butt poo."
What?!
"Butt poo."
Who said that?
"Because I know."
Pirate's Booty means it's a pirate's treasure.
"Nooooo..."
Oh dear. Where does he come up with this?
One of my favorite things is reading to NJ, praying with him and tucking him to bed. He's just so cute and snuggly in his pj's and with his little elephant. I love his little giggle when I put his blanket over him and his elephant. Today in his prayer he thanked God for school. How sweet. I love that he loves it so much. I hope it stays this way, it's only the first week!
