All school picnic. How fun, just wish it wasn't so hot! Even sitting in the shade we were sweating. The hot dogs and hamburgers were good though. And it was nice to see his classmates and meet some families. We even sat with NJ's teacher and met her husband. Somehow our conversation led to adoption so we talked about that for a while which was really nice. 

Poor Dot Dot is just trying to eat. We had to move her bowls to the kitchen since her room was invaded by ants. This way we can keep her out of the sprayed area and watch for ants. But she doesn't get to eat in peace like she normally does. He was petting her nicely so I went to take a picture. But then he said he wanted to get her to also face the camera for a picture. Oh dear, not necessary, but thank you. Everything was fine until then, she didn't appreciate that much. 

NJ enjoyed the jumping and running around and cake at his classmate's birthday party. Glad he had fun. I was so sleepy! The weather was so awful today, every time I stepped outside I immediately thought of Taiwan and Tokyo. Horrible heat and humidity that just makes you feel gross. Would've been a great day for the pool. It was nice to be able to get to know some parents from NJ's school though. 

It's definitely Friday. NJ didn't even last the car ride home. No wonder he didn't want to answer my questions about his day or even bother to keep his eyes open. He did try to keep his head up, but he wasn't fooling me. He's usually tired after school, but after a full week of school it's worse. Poor guy. Of coarse he won't sleep again when we get home and just be cranky. Yay! Happy Friday.

$1 Jamba is still on. We wanted to take advantage of the deal before it ends. This time it was all three of us. We ran into another family from NJ's school. It was the mom I volunteered with at the book fair. Funny to see the two boys talking to each other about school and what their order would be. 

NJ decided to build some track today. It came out of his room all the way to the hallway. He has a combination of several different kinds of tracks, but somehow he makes it work. He was pretty proud of his creation, going back and forth on the track, in and out of his room.

Collecting some trail mix from the snack table. I don't usually get any, but I was hungry and not going to lunch. Mama is staying for a Japan debriefing meeting. It'll be nice to get together with the team again and talk about our trip. 

A stop for tea and a snack to keep me going. This cutie is all pink... Pink drink, pink snack, and pink shirt. Love the panda with a mustache. 

How cute are these two? They ran around the park together. I think they even rolled around the grass. I just remember him coming to ask me if he could go roll in the grass. It seemed harmless enough. It was really nice to connect with a friend going away. She talked about Nepal, I talked about Japan. It's been a long time, so I'm glad we could catch up a bit. I'm always amazed at the servant hearts that some people have. It was a long day out, but well worth it.
