Time for a Picnic

NJ put his head under the table because he didn't want me to take his picture, but I still got it. Ha!
Mmm... chocolate croissants and strawberries. NJ loved it (so did me and Baba)!
Now that the sun is setting later, we have time for our picnic dinners at the park again! Yay! This time we brought his trike to ride.
Some chicken curry salad sandwiches, carrots, and strawberries, yum!
No idea what they're saying, but it must be hilarious.
How sweet, sharing a seat.

"With chocolate?!"

I asked him if he wanted pancakes for breakfast and got an enthusiastic, "Yeah! With chocolate?!"
While cooking them NJ did his alphabet puzzle.
Such a happy eater.
Someone really loves his pancakes.
I started to cut them in nice pieces, but he stopped me to say he likes eating them with the stem. Sure, less work for me!

Train and Hay Ride

Waving hello to the incoming train, NJ waited patiently.
So excited for the ride to start, he's all smiles.
Waving to the Easter Bunny. Creepy looking if you ask me.
NJ's photo he took with my camera as we're moving. Not bad at all.
Love seeing his big smile and enjoy himself.
Time for a hay ride too!
NJ cracked up every time the tractor driver blew the horn. He kept waving to the driver which seems so unsafe, but the driver kept turning around.

That doesn't look comfortable at all.
We asked NJ what he wanted for earning something of his choice. At first he said another movie night, but then he changed it to wanting a train ride. He's been so good and we were happy to spend that time together.

"Because sometimes you forget things"

My sweaty boy, as soon as we got back from his school he got a nice bath. As I'm getting him dressed he says, "silly billy".
I said, "Who's a silly billy?"
NJ- "You are!"
M- "Why am I a silly billy?"
NJ- "Because somethings you forget things!"
Oh really?
Watching the bread maker make some whole wheat pizza dough.
I wanted him to participate in making his own dinner. I gave him a little ball of dough to roll himself.
Hmm, that's why the sauce got spread to the edge and board, he wasn't watching what he was doing!
He helped me with mine too.
As it baked, NJ enjoyed eating the shredded cheese and pepperoni just as much.
I asked NJ what he wanted to drink with dinner. He asked for grape juice and got it himself. He says, "You want grape juice too?"
I said, "No, I'm just having water."
NJ, "Ok, I'll get you water."
After putting some water in his own cup and pouring his own grape juice, he got my cup and filled it with water. What a little gentleman he is.
Smile with the finished pizza you made... Too much!
That's better.
Yum, NJ enjoyed his pepperoni and green pepper pizza while I enjoyed my onion and pepper pizza. We sat together at his little table. He got up to get us napkins and refill our drinks. I love this helpful, self sufficient boy. I can get used to this. :)

Dotty to the Rescue

The entire household (Baba, me, NJ, Ah-ma, and Dotty) were on the hunt for a lizard.
Ah-ma called in a panic about a lizard in her house. She asked us to bring Dotty over knowing she's caught several at our house. Unfortunately, she did not sniff it out or catch anything. Dotty followed Ah-ma wherever she lead her all around the house. Nothing. She was anxious about having a lizard in the house and was desperate to find it, telling Dotty: "Dotty why aren't you doing anything? What did you come here for?!" It's not quite the same, she has a big house with plenty of places to hide. And I never saw a lizard in our house, only when Dotty had already killed or cornered it for us to shoo it outside. She's the one that spots it. We thought about leaving her to eventually find it, but we brought her home. It seemed silly, but worth a try for Mom's peace of mind, but it didn't work.

More Birthday Fun

The lovable boys. NJ, always the affectionate one. Another birthday to celebrate today. So many this weekend, wish we could have gone to all of them.
Again, NJ needed a bit of warming up and then was off and running. This time, Uncle was nice enough to lead him into the maze. There were three levels of climbing and slides. He also spent most of his time collecting balls to shoot out of the mini cannons they had. He pretty much disappeared only coming to find us once in a while. Each time we saw him he was more and more sweaty. So glad he had fun.
Ice cream for the kids, coffee for the parents. Yum!
