NJ is building while Baba is playing with the pieces.
Baba pumped up his bike tire and we moved the cars off the driveway.
Without any cars, he rode so much better! There was plenty of room to get enough momentum to pedal before having to turn. He was really enjoying riding his bike up and down the driveway and around in front of the garage.
There's those adorable dimples. The yummy homemade almond jello Baba made must've brought that out.

Last Friday was the first day the class joined the big kids out at Friday assembly in the yard. I totally missed it of course. They'll be doing this for the rest of the year to get used to it for next year.
I stuck around for a bit, I was taking a picture of NJ and he and his friend wanted one together. How cute.
The kids were asked to make birthday cards for Alexander Hamilton's birthday with some facts about the man. I spotted NJ's up on the board at the front of the school.
He's really studying this catalogue hard.
We played a couple games of Guess Who. NJ left his on Dotty. Poor Dot. I told him to come back to put it away.
NJ asked if he could do some pages from a work book. Of course you can! I didn't realize until he asked me to check it that he was doing a second grade one. He did a pretty good job. When I explained the instructions, he knew exactly what to do and what the answers were. Who knew, ha, ha.
During dinner he was doing knock-knock jokes again. They never make any sense, he just makes them up and laughs hysterically as if we don't get it. But he said he learned one from Abigail at school today:
Knock, knock
Who's there?
Persa
Persa who?
Perseverance, I'm going to keep knocking until you open!
That one we did really laugh at because it made sense! And neither of us had heard that one before. We started asking him about Abigail. He said she sits next to him, they help each other spell out words and with writing. I asked what he likes about Abigail and before he said anything Baba says, "She's pretty! Right?! Right?!"
He's nudging NJ while NJ turns totally red, covers his face, and gets suddenly quiet. Ha, ha, ha! We had a good laugh with that one. He did say that she's smart, nice, and funny. She has the nicest writing in the whole class, it looks perfectly neat and pretty.

My snuggle bug, I love when he curls up with me.
Baba is helping me put NJ's school license plate instead.
And setting up my phone, woohoo!
Like father like son. I'm not sure which one knows more about the sets, characters, space ships, and all that good stuff. It's funny to hear them talk about it together. Ha, ha.

Baba and I had an adventure in OC today! There's a lot I can't believe happened, I think it's going to take me a while.
Hot pot night with the girls. Our book group past and present brought lots of yummy food to share. It was great catching up with ones we haven't seen and ones that we're welcoming in. This was fun, must do it again soon!

"Mmm! Spaghetti! I love it! Yum!"
So cute all comfy on the couch holding on to his figure.

NJ built his own Lego army of chess pieces to play against Baba's pieces. I love how they bond over this stuff. They were getting ready to play as I left to yet another post holiday gathering. This time with some high school friends. I didn't take him with me this time. I figured it was a long drive, it was raining, and he'd be the only boy. It was really nice to see everyone, their kids, and eat and catch up.
They sent home gifts for me to give to NJ. Oh my... more Legos! How is this possible?! I'm really losing track of what he even has now. He loves it though! He's so quick with building them too. It amazes us every time.
Ooh a dachshund cookie cutter, I've always wanted one! Yay! Now we can make dachshunds together, so fun!
Ah-ma and Gong-gong invited us out to dinner last minute. We met them at the restaurant.
He made a card for them to say thank you for our trip together.
