Laundry, Looming, and Soccer
Helping out with laundry, he brought it down from his room. Yikes the garage looks even worse in pictures.
Load up the washer, starting with elephant zipped up in a net bag.
Ready for the detergent.
He wanted to make some bracelets for some friends. He looks so worried about making it right!
So colorful, I made one too.
After drawing some pictures and playing with game pieces, Baba and NJ went out for a bit.
They went to help Ah-ma and Gong-gong with something at their house. Then they went to watch a soccer game at the park. NJ put his school sweater on for the first time. The first time needing a sweater at all really.

Coffee, Drawings, Batman, Loaf
A quick outing, haven't been outside in a long time. I was feeling stuck at home and I was too embarrassed at our unkept house to have friends over. Can't beat some fresh air, my favorite tea latte, and an adorable baby to stare at. Hee, hee.
NJ wanted to draw a picture and write a card for a friend who go hurt this week.
He said the picture is of them playing soccer under an apple tree.
He got another silver star today! And we got this sticky note from his teacher this week too. So proud of him.
NJ was very excited about this sweater which also has a cape attached to the back. He said he could wear it to school for the costume parade and wear his batman underwear too. I told him best keep that information to yourself on the day of. Normally we don't buy clothes since we have all that we need and more. But we figured he can wear it anytime so it has double purpose. I have yet to open up the rest of his boxes including the ones with his jackets in them. Better do that soon.
NJ wanted to play this game. I didn't know exactly how except that it's probably like sorry. I just made it up. He had fun so it couldn't have been that bad.
Cuddling up to read some books. He reads a page, I read a page. I love snuggling with him and I love that he loves reading.
2.5 lb. loaf of french bread straight from the bread maker. Ready for delivery!

Mini Superheroes
Someone is a big fan of tacos, after the first bite it pretty much disappeared. He had two, if there were more I'm sure he would have had those too.
After dinner game of chess.
Did a very mini photo shoot starring a few superheroes for NJ.

Chess, Snakes and Ladders, Checkers
NJ did a great job doing neat work on his homework.
Baba tests him everyday on sight words. He's up to second grade words which surprised us.
NJ had chess today. He said he was able to check mate someone using what Baba has taught him.
He also wanted to play snakes and ladders. He played one with Baba and then wanted me to play too. I won and the boys played on to see who was second and third.
We taught him to play checkers too tonight. He was all upset over losing to both of us. Poor guy, we always tell him that we play for fun, not to win.
Tonight he prayed that he's happy I'm feeling better. How sweet.

"Mama, are you happy you're home?"
Playing chess with sunglasses? It's kind of dark, how can you see?
Playing chess through dinner too. He asked me during dinner: "Mama, are you happy you're home? Now you can go to church again. And you can see your friends and talk to them."
So funny that he said that, he knows me well even at five. It's insightful that he'd make that observation. He knows somehow that part of getting better and feeling better also involved people.

NJ asked Baba to read him a book.
Now it's his turn to read to Baba.

We took turns playing hang man. He's better at words now so he knows how to spell what he wants to.
Then he started writing his letters.
Mom left these letter heads as scrap paper for NJ to draw on. How funny, it's a flashback to childhood when dad was president at one point. So weird to see.
Some rare iPad time and a glimpse at the tuned out NJ.
NJ playing candy crush with Ah-ma on her iPad (and Ah-gong watching). Thank you for bringing dinner, grandma and grandpa.
