"There's no Christmas tree"

This morning I could hear him singing all the way from our room with the doors closed. I opened his door and he was rolling around in his blanket still singing until I surprised him by turning the light on. He's been singing more than I've ever heard him, making songs out of everything and anything. Maybe we can put him into another music class again, that would be fun.

Fun ways of practicing his motor skills. He was much more interested in eating the cheerios and tangerine, though. I told him he wear a necklace of cereal or string it on a Christmas tree for Christmas. That confused him because he kept telling me, "there's no Christmas tree."

"What are you talking?"

His name was chosen today to put the "28" on the calendar and point out the days as the kids counted. NJ loves it. :) We made plates today with his hand prints, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Some home made chicken noodle soup. Not as good as Baba's, but NJ still had three bowls full. Plus some crackers.

Yesterday and today he was extra whiney, snuggly, and had more attitude. I got really tired of him answering my calls and questions with: "What are you talking?" Meaning: what are you talking about? Or why are you talking to me? He's been getting time outs for saying this and for saying no to me. I don't know why he suddenly thought it was ok, but it was making me crazy.
We tried face time with ah-gong (grandpa) today. That was fun. I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before. He didn't even know it existed and thought it was great. Ha, ha, we'll have to do it again sometime.

"My ear hurts."

He asked to play with these trucks and as I helped him with his shoes, I saw that he had already lined them back up on the window. How nice that I didn't have to ask him.

A cool superman sticker on the way out!

Oops, where's your head, NJ? I missed his head completely! These were taken upside down, one handed, aiming the best I could. He said he was hungry so I got him a smoothie to hold him over since he was so good at the doctor. He repeated, "Mmm... so good!" Over and over. He even made it into a song. Along with a lot of other stuff he was saying today, too many to remember.

There's your head!

Did you like your drink?

NJ woke up crying and wouldn't stop all through breakfast. He was complaining about his ear hurting so I called his doctor's nurse line (the office wasn't open yet). I was worried about him having an ear infection. I know nothing about them because Nathan's never had one. But I just happened to be talking to another mother about it and asked her a bunch of questions a few days ago. Otherwise, I may not have called the doctor right away. Besides the fact that he wouldn't stop crying and complaining about his ear, it was unusual for him. Before even getting a call back, I was preparing to leave for the doctor's. I got him in for a late morning appointment. Not feeling a hundred percent myself, I was dreading the drive. He was so good seeing the doctor. I'm not always the best at preparing him for situations... so I made sure to tell him to be polite, say hi, sit still, let her look in his ear and check him out. Funny, he always likes going to doctor's visits. Well, NJ has his first ear infection. A little redness, caught early, and he'll be fine by tomorrow thanks to some antibiotics. Having to wait around at Target was a pain, though. He was so restless from being tired, hungry, and not feeling well. I gave him some as soon as we got home and he continued to ask for it the rest of the day. He'd say, "I want the target medicine, I need it..." What strange kid, he likes going to the doctor and likes taking medicine. Thank goodness, Baba is better too. I think a few mores days of rest should clear us up, I hope.

"Why there's no sun?"

He asks "why there's no sun" almost every night. And, "Where the sun go?" And, "Why it's night time?" During the day he asks, "Why it's day time?" I tell him the same thing every time: This happens every day, the sun comes up and it's day time. Then the sun goes down and it's night time. That's when the moon comes out. Tonight on the way home he asked me over and over and we had a long conversation about it. He was also asking. "I want chicken and fries because I'm hungry". I laughed and said, "I know you ate, you're going straight to bed!" Then he cried. Clearly he was very tired.

Had to get out of the house! My boys are sick, so I get to see these boys. :)
