it's getting more difficult to get good photos of him now that he's become so active. it seems like they're all of him sitting and eating. he might stop for me and say cheese, but not long enough for me to actually take a good shot. :( oh well. gone are the days of the cute and playful photos. now i just get what i can when i can. and it's tiring to follow him around!

(thanks for the tip, auntie janell)
"i want to dip!" sorry nj, too messy. he still said, "baba... baba? i like chick fo lay."

a ladies man, huh?

silly. when we were out today, that's what everyone was saying. he was asked for a high five from one guy...

"i want mango!"

earlier in the day, nj said: "i want to go to sam's club. i want pineapple."
that's where we always get it! why not? let's go...

help us bring in the groceries?

nj: yeah, i want to hold pineapple.
us: it's too heavy, how about this one? (we give him the cream cheese double pack)
nj: this heavy too.
us: you're a strong boy, you can do it!

do you like your spaghetti?

"yes. i like the bread too." we made spaghetti with bolognese sauce again and some garlic and cheese biscuits. he had two plates full! it made me happy that he liked it so much. when i put his plate in front of him, this was our mini conversation:
mama: it's hot, just wait or blow on it first
nj: it's not hot.
mama: ok, then you can eat it.
nj: (takes a bite) it's hot!
baba breaks into laughter, i just roll my eyes and sigh.

nj came home and immediately said he wanted milk. he was so whiney, we could tell he was really tired. so were we. it was a long clinic day with two more appointments stacked afterwards. so we left the house at 5:00 am and got home at 2:00 pm. we both had to rest before mr. tired and cranky came home.

day with ah-goo...

(aka: uncle perry) this morning he had the surprise of ah-goo coming out of the guest room. he had such a big smile on his face. the first thing he said was, "where's ah-gim?" (aka auntie karen, his wife). he said a couple of times later that day too, "i want to see ah-gim." awww. it was great to get to spend the day with my brother. it's been a few months. he mentioned how much nj has changed so quickly. now he speaks full and understandable sentences. he was quite glued to ah-goo all day. sometimes he'd just randomly call him, the way he does us. funny. we tried some yard sales, but they were scarce. and the ones we did find, were quite sparse in items. oh well, it was worth a try. somehow we ended up at the south coast plaza... to check out the closing borders store, then to a department store make up counter a few places in between.

show me your car from ah-goo! thanks for all the goodies, uncle perry (for all three of us)!

being spoiled by ah-goo... you can walk yourself, nj!

just like my car pants from ah-gong (grandpa). he was so mesmerized by the moving train and whole set up.

ah-goo was nice enough to go in and get him a little brochure on the tomica sets. he was mesmerized by that too! so much he wasn't walking straight, we had to tell him to focus on walking.

lunch at your favorite place! smile with ah-goo!

so much excitement, he fell asleep before we even got home. then we all napped.

after the boys went out together for an errand, it was time to say goodbye. take a picture with ah-goo!

hmm, sun in the background... let's try one with flash. thank you for spending the day with us, ah-goo, we miss you!!

"i like my sandwich."

he really didn't like the sun in his eyes. poor guy.

like father, like son. digging for some cars.

"want to wait for mama"

i'm always so slow, but he waits at the door for me. sometimes, holding the screen door for me too. how sweet. but today, i was staying home. the boys were off to church by themselves. i stayed back to catch up on rest.

rolling the ball

i sat with him to roll the ball back and forth for a while. he had so much fun, he giggled non-stop and i could hardly take a photo.

the face of mischief...

oh my, i asked him to say cheese and this is the face he gives me. we took a trip to get some groceries. as we shopped, i asked him what he wanted. he looks back at the cart and says, "mushrooms... and brownies." oh really? he told me, "if you eat the mushrooms, then you can have brownie." interesting...
