He peaked from behind the box to see if I noticed that he stuck the dog's head through the window.
I peaked through the window to see if he'd do the same.
After picking him up from camp he said was hungry. Missing him all day made me a softie so I got him something we don't always get. His smile made me happy.

Medieval Times

NJ was excited saying, "My second day and I get a field trip?!" He didn't even know what it was. We thought he'd really like it since it was something new and different with horses, fighting, and food. To our surprise he said it was, "Ok." It made us laugh, everything he had to say about it... He said, "it smelled like horses. The chicken, potato, and corn was different, it didn't taste right. But the garlic bread and cookie were good. It just smelled like horses. And we didn't even have utensils for the food!" We had a whole discussion about the jousting, the weapons, and fake fighting. I thought he'd be more impressed, but I guess the smell bothered him too much!

Free Slurpies and Heart Bracelets

This isn't supposed to actually happen to you, just in commercials and tv... The bag of chips is stuck between the spring release and the glass. The park volunteers assured us that they shake and hit the vending machine multiple times a day because it happens to them all the time. It was an interesting start to NJ's first day and first time at summer camp. We didn't know he needed a second snack for the morning so we let him pick one. We almost never use vending machines. He got an unexpected treat.
Last night he was all nervous about what summer camp was, asking so many questions... What do I do? Who's there? What kind of sports? What kind of crafts? What kind of activities? What about food? Where is it? For how long? What if I don't like it? It's hard to get away with telling him anything without the 20 questions. It's cute though, he's so curious and gets all nervous about stuff. But he always turns out being fine. He's pretty resilient and easy going. It felt strange to leave him there when it's not school, church, or people we know.
He proudly showed me the bracelets he made today, one for me and one for him. How thoughtful and sweet. On the way home from picking him up he said they all walked to 7-11 for free slurpies. I thought he was kidding, but as we pulled out of the parking lot of the park I asked him to give me directions to where they walked. I made two rights and drove up several blocks, it felt like I just kept going and going. I kept asking him, are you sure you walked this far?! Sure enough, we finally came up on a 7-ll on the left, several blocks away. This time I had many questions for him! Who walked with you? Did everyone go? Why would they have so many kids walk the streets so far? Who's idea was this?! What time was it today? Did everyone get one? What flavor did you get? (He got cola, mango, and something else all mixed in one, interesting combo) Did you like it? Yikes, I'm not sure I like this idea especially since we already don't know anyone working with the kids. Well he's home without incident, so it was fine I guess! A long walk in the hot sun for some ice cold artificial flavoring with strangers, haha!
Baba left these air filled packing material to pop. He said to do it outside to not scare the dogs. I asked him to wait until I get my camera so I could take a photo of happy anticipation. Obviously he did not. For not listening, I said next time he might not get to pop them. He didn't like that I said that as you can tell on his sad face. :( Oh so sad.
