Explorer, Giant English Muffin, Sizzler

Yesterday Uncle and Auntie gave NJ an explorer's hat and a bug catcher kit. He was so excited to use it that he didn't bother to change out of his pajama's. He didn't find anything. I thought at least he'd find some roly poly or something.
We woke up to a surprise at our back door. Our kind fiends went to a bakery nearby and dropped off some huge, delicious english muffins! They were so good. NJ and I shared one since they were so big. Thank you Uncle Steve.
After yet another day of unpacking and putting things away, we got out to meet our FOT gang. Always lots of laughs and weirdness (the good kind). We thought it was really funny that dinner that was already arranged turned out to be five minutes from where we used to live. And now we're driving about forty five to get there. It was interesting to be back in the area. Good to catch up with our friends, we only all see each other once in a while. We went to sizzler which I haven't been to in so many years. NJ did a great job on his dinner and got an ice cream cone. He got the chocolate vanilla swirl, exactly what I like too. One auntie asked him which one he liked better, vanilla or chocolate. He said both!

Guest Room, Guests, and Night Market

We finally got the washer and dryer cleaned out and washed some sheets and towels and stuff. NJ helped us with putting some on the guest bed. Not sure why he wanted to do it with his blanket draped over himself.
He and Uncle Jimmy had a ton of fun playing Legos together. They built a motorcycle launch pad. Haha, so creative.
Someday baby will be able to join in too! Meanwhile he's being entertained by Baba.
I've always wanted to go, but it never works out. We always have plans already or it's too far or something. So here we are, finally. Our friends invited us to tag along. We wanted to beat the crowd so we went when it opened. No crowds, but it was still hot.
Auntie Marnie and her lobster balls, she said they were quite delicious.
Baba was especially excited about the stinky tofu. He tried to get everyone to try it.
Yay, Joshua will try them!
But he didn't like them. At all! At least he tried them.
Ooh, thank you Auntie for the fresh watermelon popsicle! It was so good! I had a taste.
You're so funny Uncle Jason!
NJ wasn't hesitant about trying anything, good for him!
So much good food, I can't even remember everything we ate. I definitely had more desserts than I did actual food! Oh well. We did so much walking around and we were so stuffed with trying so much stuff. By the time the crowds started rolling in, we left. Our friends stayed to have more fun, but we were tired! All the food reminded us of when we went to get NJ, hope we can visit again soon to have the real stuff.

Spiderman Ninjago

NJ had something all built already this morning. I asked him what it was and he said it was a crook robbing a place and the police catching him.
He didn't have an explanation for why they were both face down in the corner later in the day, though. How strange.
He also built a garage for the truck he made.
Just like his Baba who loves pickles.
After lunch our pastor came over to visit and to bless the house. It was nice that we could sit and talk with him for a bit. Then he and Baba went to get coffee together and talk together some more. It's so nice that we can do this and be connected to church like we used to.
NJ trying to hide underneath the dino.
NJ wanted to watch the Lego Movie. He's been watching it so much he can recite the entire movie. It's nice to have some down time.
Why is the ninjago guy riding along with spiderman? I wish I knew what was going through NJ's head sometimes.
Trying to put together the guest room. NJ is helping Baba put away some stuff in the boxes.
Mmm... shabu shabu and korean bbq in one! All you can eat can be dangerous. But the price was really decent so I didn't feel so bad not eating my money's worth like usual. Plus it was nice to see and catch up with the girls.

It seems that everyone is excited about our guests, even Dot. She wants her belly rubbed by someone. Our friends wanted to visit the house and brought lunch. So sweet. NJ had the best time building legos with Uncle and Baba really enjoyed his time with baby. It's bringing back a flood of memories seeing him here. He's the same size and age and we're back in the house where we brought NJ home. It's so nice to see and hear a baby here again. And it was nice to have company today.
NJ wanted to ride his trike outside. We still haven't gotten our bike pump back to pump up the tires on his bike.
Practicing his tofu game.

Slow day, everything is catching up to us. We did some errands and looked at microwaves. We used to have two, but we got rid of both since at our other place there was a built in. I didn't know they were so expensive. I think we'll just find a used one, I can't see us spending so much just to warm up stuff. At home we are still putting things away, opening as many boxes we can everyday. It's tiring.

It's great to see him using his play area this morning.
Now some building with Baba. Finally, a day that we can sleep in and slow things down a bit.
We went to get a few things that we noticed we really needed. One of the smoke detectors is broken, bulbs need replacing, and we needed a recycling bin. The trash bin is tiny and the recycling one is huge. Something new we need to figure out. Before, the city separated everything so we're used to just throwing everything away. At least this way we can sort easier. NJ was trying to be patient, but I don't blame him. It's been a lot of what we need to do and not as much doing things for him. Hopefully we can settle in sooner than later so we can get back to normal.

How cute, it's been a long time since seeing each other.
This is after her mom said to kiss NJ. Haha. They both backed away.
NJ and his buddy. I was sitting across so I have no idea what NJ was saying to him. But he kept putting his arm around Cameron to talk to him. I wish I knew what he was saying. I went to meet some high school friends for lunch. One is in town for a bit and it was really nice to see everyone. We  would have had to leave church in the middle or go to the first early service. So we ended up not going. We slept through our alarm for the 9:00am. I was so tired from the day before I probably wouldn't have been functioning much at that time anyway. Even at lunch I wasn't totally myself. I feel terrible for not taking a better opportunity to talk and interact with everyone. Hopefully the next time won't be too far from now.
Dropping by the house to take the trash out for tomorrow. I gave him a popsicle that was in the freezer.
His play area is ready. A lot smaller than the other place where he almost had the whole room, but it'll do just fine. He is just as happy. It's the start of things coming together.
NJ and Baba played a game of chess tonight. So glad he's still into it.
