How sweet, NJ came in our room this morning giving us each a colored picture. He asked if we'd put them up, but I didn't know where. He ran off and got some tape and taped it to the closet door without me even knowing. Hopefully it cleans off easily. So cute, I love looking at them. It reminds me of how I'm loved by my sweet son.
Birthday party number five this month! Ha, ha. So many! NJ had a fun time of coarse along with all the kids. This time the parents had the same fun as them. Although it was followed by pain. I went on a couple of obstacles and slides and I thought I was going to faint from exhaustion. They're hard to do! It requires so much strength, it's not built for adult bodies or weight. But I'm glad I tried. I was a fumbling, out of breath, tired mess, but it was worth it. The kids were trying to help us out by giving us tips, encouraging us, laughing at us, and calling us crazy. As I went on to my first one, he was behind me yelling something about: "Remember the rules, Mama! Don't..."
I totally didn't hear the rest because I fell down the other side, hard and ungracefully. I'm sure the parents all lined up against the wall facing me had seen me. So many kids passed me up before I could get out of there, it was pretty sad! I wish I still had the energy of these kids!

I love you because I love you...

We were super early dropping him off so we sat in the car for a bit first. NJ was snuggling Baba. How sweet.
After school NJ handed each of us a heart. Mine says: I love you Mama. I love you because I love you. Baba's says: I love you Baba. I love you because I love you.
He said, "I made it because I love you. It's just because I love you. So I want you to have it."
So sweet! I put it on Mom's framed wedding photos of us. Hopefully she doesn't mind.
NJ had all of us searching every box, bag, floor, and table for all kinds of specific pieces. Ugh. This is what happens! We've tried so many different ways to keep things organized, but none of it works! He was looking for what he said was a grey backpack. Finally he showed Baba a picture of it in his instruction book. Baba said, "That's not grey, that's gold!"
NJ, "Oh yeah. Gold. Yeah."
I think they eventually found it, I fell asleep!

Open House

"My new tie shoes!"
His shoes get worn so fast! This is his third new pair this school year! How is it possible? And he's up another couple sizes again. His feet will be bigger than mine in no time. He really wanted laced shoes. When he was trying them on he was showing us how to tie them and says he helps the other kids in class tie their shoes all the time. This is news to me, I was thinking we were still going to teach him to tie shoes! I guess we missed that completely, he learned it on his own or figured it out or something. My goodness. He's more grown up than I even sometimes give him credit for. It's all happening too fast.
I went to the classroom before school to help him set up his open house project. I took some photos in case they were ruined by the end of the day.
Open house tonight was great! We got to visit all the classrooms and see other grades and their projects displayed too. They had a sheet to stamp each grade they visited, which was fun. We're so proud of him and the great book and project he did!
Next door in the first grade class, each student had their own little store to sell stuff. Baba bought these two little lego builds for thirty cents each. Not a bad deal! Mom bought a pretty little potted flower.
I noticed how NJ had a bunch of his mini figures all lined up. It's funny how he mixes and matches them so strangely.
He decided to sit and color for a while. Dotty is sitting and watching.
Our re-pipe is done! Yay!

"You forgot Ah-ma?"

Morning opening, he did a great job with leading the pledge of allegiance.
All lined up and ready for class!
After school I brought him to a bookstore. I let him wander and look at what he wanted to (I followed, of coarse). It was interesting to see what he'd stop to look at. Usually a package with a book and craft or art set. He was especially interested with looking at science sets which I thought was cool. He asked me what they were and I'd read the package to him if he couldn't. I told him about creating natural energy and building remote control robots. He said he'd like to get one when he saves enough money for it. Good for him!
Of coarse he spots the lego stuff and spends quite a bit of time there too.
He moved on to classic story books and other random books that he liked or had seen at school.
Every time I thought he was ready to go, he'd stop to look at another book. I just let him take his time, it was nice to see him so interested.
I stopped to see these cute domos, one was dressed as a panda. How cute!
On the way home I gave him a piece of pastry bread that I had picked up earlier in the day. He was helping himself to searching the bag. He says, "You got three?"
M- "Yes."
NJ- "One for me, one for Baba, and one for you?"
M- "Yes."
NJ- "You didn't think about Ah-ma! You didn't get her one too? You forgot her?"
Oh dear.
No more homework since we finished up his open house project already. Plenty of time to play with his favorite toys.
Mom made us some noodles with vegetables for dinner. When NJ saw me with chopsticks he immediately got up to exchange his fork for chopsticks too. He said to Ah-ma, "I can use chopsticks!" He really enjoyed the noodles. His plate was cleaned.
Poor dotty hiding amongst the madness of his toy pieces scattered all over. After he went to put his pajama's on, I asked him to clean up. So hopefully none will be lost and Dotty can roam, sit, and lay peacefully.
