"Can we have a baby too?"
We got to visit our friends who had a baby. Oh the wonderful joy of babies! What is it about holding a newborn that's so heartwarming?
NJ - "Why Auntie had surgery?" He associates hospitals to surgeries.
M - "Auntie didn't have surgery, she had a baby. Remember when I was in the hospital? It's so doctors can make sure you're ok."
NJ - "Did you have a baby?"
M - "No. Mama didn't have a baby, but Mama got a liver."
NJ - "Oh. Can we have a baby?"
Yikes! I don't remember what I said, probably a nervous laugh. He fell asleep on the way home and was strangely whiney and moody. He was even crying for no reason. I must have asked him ten times what was wrong, why is he crying? Finally, he snuggles up to me and the surprising conversation continued:
NJ - "I want to go see the baby. Why we have to come home?"
M - "We can go back to she her any time, there's nothing to be sad about."
NJ - "But I want to see the baby everyday. Can we have a baby too?"
M - "Well, we'll see. It's complicated. We just have to see what God has planned for us."
Now he wants to pray for a baby... oh boy. It's strange enough for me to be internalizing my feelings about babies... and here's my little one asking me for one and asking why we can't have one. God is funny that way, I guess. Wouldn't it be nice if things were as simple as you'd like them to be?

Excited to take a short ride with Ah-ma in the car.
Sad because he wanted to say goodnight to Baba (and give him the usual hug and kiss) but he's wasn't home. It's workout night! He's been extra expressive lately with his faces. Even though you can't tell in the first photo, haha! I didn't quite catch it but he has a really good, sad pouty face. I'll have to catch it another time. I just feel bad putting a camera in his face when he's all sad. (But it's also so cute!)

"Do all cars have brakes?"
Just chillin'
"This is my favorite car"
NJ's been practicing his name the last few weeks. He loves to write! When I made our kitchen message board, I taught him how to spell his name every time I wrote it on there. Mom showed me his latest today.
