So sweet that they like playing games together.

So many colorful candies.

And lots of chocolate stuff too. We liked the old fashioned retro toy section.

We did a little bit of walking around. It really started pouring which was strange. We were all reminded of the Philippines, Taiwan, or Japan. Muggy, humid, and raining. NJ hid his head under Baba's shirt. I could hear people laughing and saying it was cute. I guess he didn't like his head wet.

A game of guess who with Auntie's help. She helped with clearing confusion.

They wanted us to try this place. We ordered a small for a bunch of us to share. But even the small was huge! Yikes. It's the size of his face.

With our kids at VBS, I went to get some tea with another mommy friend. I couldn't resist a milk tea and a macaron. So yummy. It was an emotionally weighing day and it was only 11:00am by the time I had gotten done talking to four different moms on the way out of dropping NJ off at VBS. I consider it a blessing and privilege that others feel they can talk to me. At the same time, my heart is heavy. I wish I could help with more than just encouragement and prayer.
We had lunch together at home after, it was a light and refreshing one.
A game of Star Wars Guess Who.
And then a Lego Star Wars short DVD. He's really getting into it.
He wrote and decorated a card for Grandma's birthday. We also picked out a nice necklace for her.
Aww, Cocoa.
Happy Birthday Ah-ma!

My routine pill box filling. I always feel like an old lady doing this. Pretty soon I will be and it won't be any different.
Lunch was prepared by the time NJ and Baba came home. I had food for more, but our visitors came a little later.
Finally after finishing his lunch I let him eat his VBS treat. It was quite strange. He said it was just popcorn and fruit snacks, but I still thought it was really weird.
He really enjoyed it!
Auntie brought these rocket balloons that the boys would blow up and let go. They'd "race" them down the hall to see which would go further.
Time for a snack, some fresh baked brownies with a bit of ice cream on top. Mmm...
And now for some... wrestling?
I guess that sugar really got to them quick!
It was a real treat to have my best friend and her boys visit for the first time. Or at least since being back. So many memories of us hanging out together here when she had her first son and then when NJ came along. Now we'll be making new memories with her second son too and all of us together. So blessed to have the deep friendship that we have shared since childhood.
Mmm, dinner is served! Thanks to our friends who made most of the dinner, it was delicious! We need to do Costco together more often. :)

Baba and NJ putting together a Mixel together.
Dotty is always finding odd spots to get comfy.
NJ made this pasta necklace at VBS today. He put it around my neck and I said, "Wow, it matches my shirt exactly!"
He said, "That's why I made it like that, for you!"
How sweet. The pastas were orange and teal like blue.
Some coloring while I made dinner.
"Mmm, I love noodles Mama!" He was quite excited not only about the noodles, but also the brown eggs and tofu.
Time to wind down for bed, but doesn't seem like this guy is winding down at all.
A bedtime story and devotional. Right after VBS today our friends followed us home for lunch and hang out time. That was really nice. NJ wanted to pray for them. Every time we have guests over NJ thanks God for them and that they can visit.

It's VBS week at HOPE! First day and someone is very excited. Especially that Baba will be with him  taking photos.
While NJ was at VBS I went with one of his aunties to shop at costco. I found a first grade work book for him. I thought it might be stuff too advanced, but he did fine with every section! I'm so proud.
I asked him to help with sanitizing this toy with a wipe. He did a pretty thorough job. Now our littlest guest can play with it!
Night, night. He reminded us the three things that they needed to remember going home from VBS- Get good sleep, eat a good breakfast, and wear your shirt. He also told us today that we have to pray for the kids in Indian who don't have clean water. I tried to correct him by saying that it's India, not Indian. But he insisted that's what he said.

The house looks so different without all the shrubs around. It's nice and clean and open. We're not used to it.
The door has been painted and the screen doors are off.
NJ plopped down to wait for us.
The fountain has been fixed and refinished, it looks a lot better and won't leak anymore.
So weird to see it so empty. Doesn't feel like home anymore. I hope someone else will make a home here soon.
The inside of the garage has been refinished, it's so much better than the paneling.
New garage door looks a lot better and won't wobble anymore.
I got the mail and he had a Lego magazine to look at.
We made dinner together at home. We went by the Korean market while we were by the old place and picked up lots of yummy stuff.
I asked NJ if he's been messing with my penguin and her home. He said yes. who else would stuff the penguin inside with a panda? So strange.
Baba was frustrated with his mini figure mess. So he put a lot of them back together the best he could based on what we could remember or match.
Getting closer with finishing the guest room. Now we can have guests stay with us again!
