Since moving and being sick, we have not been well connected with a small group as a family. We could all feel that void of connection with others. And finally today, we were able to have that connection again... Nathan with his church friends playing in the pool, doing crafts, and running around playing. Baba with other daddies and Mama with other mommies. It was good for the heart to spend that time together.

NJ and his former classmates. They were all playing their own tunes. This is the only photo I got. Too bad NJ's blurry, but how cute are they? 

NJ filled his sticker chart to 50 today! I let him choose a toy that we had put away. He chose a lunch pail. I was wondering why he wouldn't want one of his big dump trucks or something. Well, somehow he remembered that there were a ton of cars in the lunch box! I didn't even remember. He was so eager to carry it off and lined them all up with his other cars right away. 

Another night of late night baking. This time for a baby shower. Two batches each of cookie recipes that I changed a bit. Hopefully it's good! Reese's pieces cookies and double chocolate chip cookies. Now to package them. 

Busy Day

Helping Baba wash the car. NJ picked up a sponge with no hesitation, he was so happy to help and did a great job. 

We need three beverage dispensers for Sunday's baby shower. I had one and found the other two at Goodwill. There happen to be two identical ones. Too bad they weren't also fifty cents from the yard sale I got mine from. But $3.99 each isn't bad. I can't even find these in glass anymore. The ones I see at the market or Target are plastic and more than double the price. I'm excited for my happy find!

NJ got to hang out with his girl while us mommies went shopping for food and party supplies.

Park play date with two other mommy friends who haven't seen each other in probably over ten years. Ha, ha. That was fun! But it was so hot today all our kids got super sweaty. Good thing I brought NJ's water, he kept stopping to drink some.

"This for you Mama, from Chucker Cheese."

How sweet! I was greeted this morning by NJ happily giving me this ring. Aww, I'm sure he could have chosen something more fun for himself. I'm pleasantly surprised that he would think of getting me something. His other prizes were these tops. Usually I sit there and spin them over and over for him, but he was doing a great job spinning them today.

As we sat down to eat breakfast NJ asked me, "Why owls don't live in houses? And why they don't have squirrels?" 

Such a random question with nothing leading up to it. I told him that owls are birds so they have nests. But why don't they have squirrels? Like as pets? Or around their house the way we do? 

Everyday he asks to go picnic with our friends at the park. NJ asked today if his friend was feeling better. The last time we were at the park together he (his friend) wasn't feeling well. It's hard to tell whether he was more concerned because of his well being or because he wanted to go back to the park with them again. 

"I ran, ran, ran to go pee and I almost didn't make it!"

I got woken up much too early by him shouting this story about how he almost didn't make it to the bathroom. Goodness, he really doesn't want to have an accident in his bed I guess.
