Safari Park

First visit to the Safari Park. We were invited by friends to spend the day together. Tons of fun!
Tram ride around the park. We had a good view of all the animals. NJ said his favorite was the rhino.
It was a really warm day, so the misters were refreshing, the kids had fun running around under them.
What a view!
The interactive zebra was quite funny, the kids liked it. They got to ask him questions like: How many brothers and sisters do you have? What are their names? Show us your teeth. Can you run with your teeth? Can you run in circles?
There were stations set up where you could learn about rhinos and giraffes. They had the foot, skull, and random parts. When the lady showed us and told us facts about them, she let us touch them. I didn't want to, but NJ did. And he asked, "This is a giraffe's foot? Where's the rest of it?" Oh dear.

"Can I have some candy and can I watch tv? That's a good idea!" Is it?
"Miss Sarah showed us how to dip the cookie in the milk."

Meet Little Shark

Meet Little Shark.
Little Shark is hungry.
He wants to look for food.
Shark needs a pick-me-up.
He smells some food over here.
He's a polite shark that says, "Please."
Shark is thirsty for some lemonade.
He rides the train after a good meal.
Shark stops to color with his friend.
He has one (and only one!) piece of candy.
Shark can now play the night away! (Until going home for a bath and to sleep)
This week's farmer's market was extra fun with a costume parade, trick-or-treating, crafts, and games.

"Oh my gosh, it stinks!"

NJ ran over to get me to point out Dotty's accident. I didn't have the heart to tell him it's because she's mad at him. (She used to do this as a puppy, poop at the door we left from to tell us she was unhappy). She did her duty right under his table. I went to clean it up and he says, "Dotty! You suppose to poop outside! That's gross, Dotty! Oh my gosh it stinks!"
Later I hear him from the kitchen yelling: "Mama, there's a ant! It was on my hand and got it but it went away! Oh my gosh, like, it scared me!"

"Say it louder, Mama, I can't hear you."

Did you tuck your shirt into your underwear?
Riding around in the garage. Really trying to clean it up and clean it out.
He asked me so many times to watch Umizoomi, it's his new favorite I guess. I let him watch a little of it after his bath and brushing his teeth. He looks so guilty watching. Silly.

I can't believe my own son now asks me to speak up. I say the same to him all the time... Speak up, speak clearly, don't mumble. Everyone else says I'm quiet now so does NJ!

"But I want to love her!"

Dotty comes running over followed by NJ. She jumps right up onto the couch and on to my head (as I'm laying down). Then she hides under my pillow. I asked him to leave her alone, don't bother her, you've scared her. His response to me is, "But I want to love her!" Oh dear. Unfortunately, she does not want to be loved by you. At least not at this moment.

NJ got to do all kinds of stuff he doesn't normally get to do! Like watch Thomas on an iPad and play angry birds on an iphone. I was powerless to stop it, ha, ha. I'm so happy that he was happy though. It was nice to wake up to him again. We all went to church together, with Uncle Dan and Auntie Becca.
I got a shark for NJ at a really cheesy touristy shop in SC. He likes sharks, so he was excited. I should have thought about how it had a squeaker, though. Now Dotty also loves it! I asked him to not leave it laying around otherwise, Dot Dot will get a hold of it. She'll probably chew off the fins and kill the squeaker.
I also got him this tee. It says, "Myrtle Beach" and "Endless Summer". As soon as I gave it to him this morning he wanted to wear it. So he wore it to church too.
So glad to be home and have the family reunited! As he ate dinner, Baba and I caught up a little on our weekends. He had a big photo job and we were at separate weddings. We were talking about weddings and we brought up some other recent weddings.
NJ overheard and said, "Calvin got married?" Calvin is the husband of a friend, but also the name of a friend's son.
I said, "Yes, Calvin is married. But not the Calvin that you think."
NJ- "Calvin is married? The one that came to our house, my friend?"
M- "No, it's not that Calvin. He's too little to be married. You don't get married when you're six."
NJ- "Why?"
M- "You get married when you're older. Who do you want to marry when you're older?"
NJ- "Ummm... Calvin!"
M- "What?! No, you can't marry Calvin. You can't marry a boy."
NJ- "Why not?"
M- "Just like Mama and Baba are married, Mama's a girl, Baba's a boy. So what girls do you know that you'd want to marry?"
NJ- "Ummm... You! I want to marry you, Mama."
M- "Aww, that's sweet! But you can't marry Mama either. Mama is already married to Baba. And you need someone your age. What girl do you think you'd marry that's your age?"
NJ- "I don't know."
M- "Well, you have lots of time to think about it."
Thank goodness. It must be a confusing concept to him! Didn't think of how he might be thinking of it.
