"i'm done with my veggies now, i want more"
with the way he ate, you'd think he hasn't been fed! i made him some rice, tofu, chinese cabbage, and egg. he ate it with both hands. a fork in one hand and stuffing his mouth with the other. he was eating so fast and kept asking for more. he cleaned two platefuls along with three servings of rice. he may have eaten more if i hadn't mentioned his gift waiting for him to open. or maybe that helped with cleaning his plate.
"i'm done now... with that."
nj got a package in the mail from his ah-goo and ah-gim (uncle perry and auntie karen). we left it for him to open (it came in yesterday). i cut the box open for him, but he opened it to see what was inside and i recorded it. i asked him to say hi and then you to his aunt and uncle. eager to play, he says it and says to me: "i'm done now." with what? he says, "with that" as he points to the camera. sheesh!

coffee in the park
i was hoping to bring nj with me to the park, but he has a stinkin' runny nose! so i didn't get to see him today, only baba did. i was very sad not to see him. it was nice to enjoy my friend's baby, though. he went on a swing for the first time today! oh, i miss these little precious "firsts". ha, ha. i feel like it's been so long ago already. we got to catch up over some coffee and snacks in the park. so relaxing and refreshing.
snuggling with dot
i got to enjoy dot dot as she snuggled next to me, she's been called a personal warmer and she is... she's so sweet, yesterday as she settled into her bed i said to her, "oh dotty, don't ever leave us. i love you." i got a chuckle and a head shake. i know, she's getting older. i think of her more and more like i did chrisy, my best friend's dachshund that i fell in love with as we were growing up. she was comparably the sweetest girl ever. i don't know how we'd be so lucky again, knowing there are mochi's out there... oh poor mochi, we miss him too.

i know i should let it go, but his hair still really bugs me. and what bugs me more is that grandma keeps talking about his professional cut. i look at it and think it's a few snips away from being a full on bowl cut! oh well, he's a little toddler. but the older he gets, the more upset i will be over random haircuts... who does that?! this is the third time (at least). if i were watching someone's kid, i wouldn't cut their hair without asking!
"ow, my tenders!"
oh boy, kung fu panda has our son saying all kinds of crazy things. he was scared of the toy at first, he didn't want to touch it that first night it was opened. but he's warmed up to it and now it's getting thrown around and punched. now we hear him in the house repeating the words: "hey, watch it!" and "is that all you got?!" great. it's funny, but not at the same time. i couldn't help myself, i talked to him about only saying those things while he's playing with the kung fu panda, but not to anyone.

milk and peanut jelly!
thank goodness for his easy-going nature, he drank his milk and ate his breakfast in the car this morning. he ate it nicely and happily.
yummy bread from ah-ee!
(from auntie) he loves that bread from 85c that we used to always get after music class. there would have been another piece except that dotty got to one of them. he enjoyed it very much. he was also excited to be using his new cute little tote.
car crazy mess...
he's crazy about his trucks and cars and made a gigantic mess! it took a while to clean up. from the kitchen, i could hear him singing the clean up song. the only words he sings are: clean up, clean up... and then makes up the rest, it's kinda funny.
"tenchu..."
it's better now, but that's what his "thank you" sounds like. i love it. i helped him draw a picture and sign his name on a couple of thank you cards. that was fun. until he tried drawing on the table cloth, then we were done! it was off to play again.

"we take the freeway this way to church"
last week, he kept asking to see gabby. he likes to tell us how to get to church, which way to drive and talks about it all the way there. nj loves the bible story time, snacks, and play time. baba and i were so tired from the moment we woke up and in the car he says: "baba's tired and mama's tired too, i'm not tired." sure, you're not. on the way home, he was sound asleep!
after lunch and his afternoon nap, we took a short walk over to our neighbor's house. they let us borrow something last weekend that we hadn't returned yet. i bagged up some cookies for them and headed over. they were so kind to invite us in for nj to give their sweet doggie some treats. even better, they showed us their koi pond in their big, beautiful backyard. uncle bill brought out fish pellets to let nj throw them in to feed the fish. he loved it! just walking up to the pond and seeing all the colorful fish put a big smile on his face, what a treat! uncle bill invited him back any time to feed the fish. and auntie barbara invited nj and me to her child development classes nearby. how nice it is to have such sweet neighbors.
"i don't want to share"
he got to play with his big cat digger truck for the first time yesterday, i put it with his other gifts. it was sitting in our garage until i had time to clean out the dirt and wash the blocks in soap and water. he absolutely loved it and played with it all day long. he had a hard time trying to share it once there were two others playing with it too. he did a pretty good job up until it was the only thing that he and another kid wanted to play with it at the same time. it was a power struggle. i kept saying to him that he needed to share and finally with a big pout he said to me, "i don't want to share." i had to take a deep breath and hold back, i was so upset. i took his hands, asked him to look at me and said: that's not nice at all, i never want to hear that from you. everything that we have is God's not ours. if you can't share it, then you can't have it at all. your friend is our guest, you can play with it everyday, they are here right now and want to play with it too. you need to be nice and share your toy or you get it taken away. can you please share? when he said yes, such relief came over me. but i was still so upset that i was half crying as i got them to take turns scooping up the little cars and dumping them either in the truck or into another truck. it was cute, they both calmed down as far as pouting and wanting their way. whew! such drama, what in the world?!
