We went to walk around some shops near the beach. Relaxing, fun, and we got some exercise. :) NJ got to try a bike, he was pretty good around the tight turns. He rode on a car and went to an old fashioned candy store.

"Mama are you happy?"

A refreshing and cold afternoon snack. Yay, using my ice shaver again! Yum, yum... NJ kept asking for more condensed milk. Sorry, just a little drizzle is enough.

On the way to Dad's, NJ asked me: "Mama, are you happy?" What? He's never said that before. How sweet of him to ask! I said, "Yes, I am. Thank you for asking. Are you happy?" He says, "Yeah." Ok good! :)

Dinner at Dad's. It wouldn't be complete without a boat ride, people I've never met, and a hodge podge of pizza, sushi, chicken, hawaiian bread, veggies with dip, and other various foods. Funny. I met family that I've never met before, which was nice. It was strange at first and I'm much too shy to know what to say. But I reminded myself that I shouldn't let the night go by without trying. I overheard that one cousin (probably second or third?) goes to Biola. And somehow we ended up talking about photography, graphic design, missions, adoption, and beliefs. Wow! This is what happens when I go out of my comfort zone and stretch myself. It was a blessing to talk to her, we exchanged numbers and I hope we can meet up again. It'll be great to get to know them better.

So cute sharing a seat together! Finally the tables are turned and NJ is the one that's at the receiving end of over affection. Ha, ha!
Baba bear, Mama bear, and Baby Bear lunches!
Swim date with his old classmate. They're so excited about going in the pool!
Mmm, some yummy pink cupcakes from our friends!
Unlike the madness that happened in class, these two played so well together. I hate to say it, but I was surprised!
Another surprise visit... from Ah-gong! Wow, we got to see Ah-ee and baby today, plus an old classmate and her great-grandmother, Ah-ma (grandma), and Ah-gong (grandpa)! Who knew, it wasn't totally planned this way. But what a great day spent with friends and family. :)

NJ came with me to my routine blood test. I notice that when he's with me, everyone is much friendlier and nicer. Funny how kids can sometimes bring smiles to people's faces. I sat down and he wandered until sitting down across the room from me. He gives me a look, I give him a look and he says, "Can I sit here?" I told him he could sit there as long as the room was empty, but as soon as someone walks in the door he needs to come sit next to me. So that lasted only a few seconds because after I said that, someone walked in the door and over he came. Each time that I've brought him so far, he gets closer and closer and asks more and more questions while I'm getting my blood drawn. His questions are getting harder to answer.
NJ and his gardening gloves.
We had an incredible amount of yard work to catch up on. It's been too hot to do anything. Some of the weeds got taller than our fence... so embarrassing. You can't tell by the photo, but I like the "after" picture better anyway! We trimmed some crazy overgrown bushes too. It made it difficult to walk around the pool. And man, who needs the gym when you have gardening to do? My whole body hurt and I was sweating like crazy. Feels good to clean and take care of the house. So grateful that we have one.
NJ really tried to help, but actually it was creating quite a mess. I think he got a little frustrated. We felt bad, but we were all rewarded with a refreshing dip in the pool afterwards! That felt great! Some unexpected and rewarding family time by doing housework!

"Mama, I want to show you something!"
The last couple of mornings I've been dragged out of bed by my little guy to see what he's been doing. Nothing out of the ordinary stuff, I know he just wants me out of bed, the poor guy.
"I build this for you!"
"I did two puzzles all by myself!"
