Brunch with my best friend who drove all the way over just to visit! We went to Euro pane, close by. It was so yummy! We shared some quiche and coffee.
Instead of pencils this Valentine's I thought we'd make something instead. Won't cost anything since NJ has plenty of broken crayons. Some of the paper was hard to take off. NJ asked me, "Mama why are you making the crayons naked?"
I chopped up the crayons. I wasn't sure how small the pieces should be, but I was hoping this was ok.
We tried to evenly distribute the different colors.
Got a little worried until we were able to pop them out.
Not bad, colorful heart crayons.
Some of them were too thin and cracked as we tried getting them out.
NJ wanted to show me the new mixel creation he made.
I scored the hearts so we could fold them.
He wanted to sign the one for his teacher.
NJ had to go to sleep so Baba helped me with gluing the printed text I cut out. It said, "I (heart) my friends." I almost forgot about needing these for tomorrow. Everyone's bringing Valentine's to pass out to each other. It's nice that we didn't have to spend any money because we already had all these things. And it was so fun to make! Hope the kids like them!
