This morning I put out some clothes for him to change into. He wanted to choose what he wanted which is fine. I was in my bathroom still getting ready when he came to the door to show me what he put on. He had some corduroys and a tee on. I said, "That's was fine, but please put a long sleeve over it." He scurried off and came back wearing the same thing but with another tee over his other one. I said, "Not another tee, a long sleeve." He comes back again wearing the same two tees, but now he has sweats on. I told him, "Your pants were fine, you can't wear sweats to church! Can you put on some jeans at least? I want you to put on a long sleeve. I know you know what a long sleeve is." I pointed to my wrists. He runs off and comes back wearing jeans, which is great, but still no long sleeve. I said, "Long sleeve! You know, it goes to here... (I point it out again). You'll be cold if you don't have something long sleeve, please." Finally, he puts on the shirt that I laid out for him in the first place. Sheesh. The funniest thing about that shirt is that it randomly got recognized. Our's friend's friend came by when we were all having lunch and said his shirt looked exactly like one that was her son's. Well, turns out it is! It's gotten passed down through our mutual friend. How odd that he happen to be wearing it today.
NJ really had us laughing on the drive to church. He asked Baba to play their normal car games. Baba will say numbers and NJ will either say what that number adds up to or what that number is all together (2, 1, 0 is 210 or 1, 1 is 11). Or NJ will say a something and Baba will add it up, it can be numbers or random things. He'll say some numbers like: What's one, one, one, one, one, one, five, and fourteen? He always tries to stump him which is really cute. Or he'll say something like: What's white, white, white, white, white, black? And Baba will say, light gray. It's never the same thing that he makes up which is fun to follow. Sometimes he'll add in random stuff like: What's a car, chair, lamp, road? Sometimes he'll randomly say letters for Baba to put together like: What's c-a-r or what's b-r-p-t? And Baba will say it the best he can without laughing. It's fun to hear them interact, laugh, and talk. He gets to learn and laugh.
NJ also asked Baba what song he should sing. Baba said he could sing what he wanted and suggested some sunday school songs, but NJ said, "I want to sing my own song."
Baba, "You're going to make up your own?"
NJ, "Yes."
He went on to sing three songs titled "Places I went today", "Two places I went today", and "Went to play soccer." I wish we had recorded all three of them because they were so hilarious we cracked up the entire time. But it was so random when he'd start singing. His tune was the best.
It was kind of a really long run on sentence, it was something like:
I waked up this morning and I changed my clothes for school, but first I went to the bathroom because I really had to go and then Baba made me breakfast and we ate together then we had to leave because we need to go to school and at school I saw my friends and miss lawrence and we did our centers and we had lunch and Mama came to get me and we went to the park to play on the playground then I visit ah-ma and we ate some food and I took a bath and came home and put on my pajamas and go to bed...
