Ten hour flight, a quick stay in Tokyo, hopping sub stations and a ten hour bus ride later, we're here in Ishinomaki! Sue picked us up and dropped us off at the apartments. We got our stuff out, took a look around and headed to dinner.
I thought they were joking when they said we're going to Big Boy for dinner. Nope, here we are!
Lots of big smiles all around! So relieved to be here and now we can share a meal together with the Takamotos and some new friends.
I love how cute their kids stuff is, this looks a lot more fun than stuff at home.
I was slightly worried about dinner until I saw this sign. It reminds me of the place my cousins took us to in Taiwan and also a place near my mom's house that we love going to. It's the asian version of american food, kind of. I feel much better, actually I'm excited.
Mmm, cream corn soup. My favorite! And some yummy melon soda from the soda bar.
I almost finished all of it. I love the portion size, it's the perfect amount for me! Yumiko had ordered the same thing so I was impressed that she ate all of hers. That's until I found out that Joseph (her husband) had eaten the rest.
Yumiko had put this together for Sue and Eric. We all signed it along with other friends at HOPE.
Our large dinner party. It was the nine of us, all six Takamotos, plus more staff and volunteers. If we weren't so tired I'm sure we would have been much more talkative.
I had to get a toy for NJ out of these machines at the restaurant. I got a little wiener cutlet, it's cute and very Japanese. We got settled and to sleep around 9:00 pm once we got back to the apartment.
